Cesar Kilaton, Jr.

I had to stay for a while
in a place I didn't belong
the bridge on my way home
was still under construction
of concrete mixed and sturdy steel
with no improvisation.
I sought for acquaintances
which route shall I go
no guiding sign at all
nor an arrowhead to follow.
Alone in a hovering dusk
beneath the darkening shadows
a stranger gently opened his smile
as my eyes wandered in space;
but as he reached my hand
for a clasp that was grand
I felt an intangible bridge
reaching me home
with a warmth touching my heart.
