Physics (for Alfredo)

by

Liz Keturah

With you, I can never tell
Just how the world is turning
And the degree of space it takes
Between two bodies before they collide
Naturally.
And is Gravity
the Force that is ever with you?
And the bust of Newton sits, balks at
The violations that go on in
My cosmos, self-contained, hollowempty
in my mind.
And Hawking's holes are in my soul
Which is the uncharted territory,
The real space, but inner.
Gravely, gravity pushes from above,
and inertia keeps my mind
Racing, unchecked by an
exerted force.
And the equal an opposite reaction
Of your existance is
The decomposition of my soul.
