The End

by

Khalisha Keeling

I think today is the end.
Not the end of the world.
Not the end of my life.
The end of us being friends.
You used to be angelic, not so pathetic
My ideal, surreal,
I'm only sorry that you don't get it.
I think today was the end of friends.
Goodbye my deluded partner in crime, my narcissist, egoist.
Now the charm is gone, so long.
I'm okay with just being me, a realist.
The demon behind your claws, has flaws, and I see them all.
I'm not sad.
I think once upon a time I'd cry,
Though for you, I'll be stone dry.
I will find my own way.
Not your way.
My way.
BUT, not today.
In time.
Today, is reserved for the end.
