The endless search

by

Shawnti Kanzelmeyer

And so, it seems, the search begins
I start by finding the memories
memories of what I once was
or perhaps should have been
the feelings and tastes
and then a name
so I type in a name and search
but who
the CEO, the writer who led me here
are they the one I remember
all bearing that name but none of the familiar features
why do I not know someone I'm still so fond of
why can'y I just let go
perhaps those eyes I remeber all to well looked a little to deeply into my soul
a search in vain and without help
but I can not shake the want
I can not stop missing
I just can't forget...

High Rise

by

Shawnti Kanzelmeyer

The world just got smaller today
Perhaps my view just changed
It seems closer now then it ever has before
I could have finally been touched by the spring time of my life
Taken one step back and one deep breath before turning towards the door
"let it happen" someone would say
"it'll be alright, sweet one, if you just bask now in the moment that will forever change your life"
And so I start again
Put one foot then the other in a rythm that was once tedium
Now I find it hard to breath
To run
To stop
As I find myself alone outside your door
I hear you beckoning to me
Calling ever so softly
Come to me
It will be alright
