Daydream

by

Kaden

As the waves trickled back approaching the sea
I am blanketed by the sun's temperate beam
Comforted by the Ocean's calming melody,
as a thousand diamonds rested on the sapphire stream.

I'm remembering the times we lay against your sheets
Looking in each others eyes.
The beating of our hearts was the only thing that mattered
Remembering the days when I really felt alive.

I wrap you in my arms, never let you go,
You softly brush the hair out of your face,
I shut my eyes tight, pray it lasts forever.
You slide your hand back as I slowly slip away.

My eyes gradually unclosed as the light soaked through,
I feel alive, as it did seem.
Reality returned, the tide stopped flowing
When I awoke there from my dream.
