My sons

by

Samantha M Jones

Weep only for a moment for I will not leave your side
I am in everything you do across this great divide
Fear not my sons be brave and strong my heart it cries for you
The rains that gently fall to earth are tears that I shed too
I am the rippling seashore, perhaps the gentle breeze
Listen and you'll hear me as a whisper through the trees
So when you weep, weep not for long my spirit now is free
And I will be your guiding light throughout eternity

Another World

by

Samantha M Jones

She walked along the seashore as the sun was setting low
The pain so deep within her, there was nowhere else to go
The tide was turning outward, the water cold upon her feet
No sign of anyone now though they'd promised they would meet
She leaned against the breaker, tears falling from her eyes
How could she not have noticed the deception and the lies
The friends she'd turned agaist as their stories they'd unfurled
So gently stepping downward, slipped into another world

Friends

by

Samantha M Jones

We go through life with so few friends
We make mistakes, we make amends
But if along the way we choose
To keep just one we'll never lose
One who'll answer when we call
Come running quickly should we fall
Never falter, never bend
You are that one, you are my friend

It's a sin

by

Samantha M Jones

This story of an untold love that dare not speak it's name
For fear of retribution and secret fear of shame
I cannot utter words of love nor hold you when we meet
The time that's spent within your world must always be discreet
A brush of cheek, a touch of hand, your presence in a crowd
Is all I ever can expect, 'tis all I am allowed
I savour precious moments for they are very few
But no-one can erase my mind from tender thoughts of you
How sad that we cannot express the love we feel within
It sometimes is more beautiful, this love they call a sin

Dreamers

by

Samantha M Jones

I see faces in the leaves and make patterns out of branches
I see just what I want to see for this alone enhances
Images within my mind of futuristic things
That make my life so bearable, giving my heart wings
To fly so high above the clouds, across the skies so blue
Then suddenly return to earth as all sad dreamers do

Lively Lil

by

Samantha M Jones

Sitting on the bench at night watching passers by
Some of them would make her laugh, others make her cry
Watching as they hurried home exhausted by the day
Some were happy, others sad as they passed by her way
Longing to confide in them but they would never know
The loneliness she felt and the fear she could not show
They knew her just as Lively Lil, a joke for all to share
How could she let them know she wanted somebody to care
Sighing sadly to herself as the moon descended low
Curled up tightly on the bench, for she had nowhere else to go.

One so young

by

Samantha M Jones

Why are the young taken so soon
When their lives have only begun
Where do they go on their final journey
I believe that they follow the sun
To a better place where pain is no more
And beautiful gardens are found
Where peace and love are the only emotions
And music the only sound
Be not afraid oh one so young
Pure joy is all that you'll find
I may not be standing beside you
But I'll be just a whisper behind

Deeper meaning

by

Samantha M Jones

There is a deeper meaning to it all
Something we may never comprehend
God has chosen you, he's made the call
Go peaceful on your journey, precious friend

Her biggest step

by

Samantha M Jones

She journeyed through her inner thoughts
Reflecting silently
And made conscious decisions
To set her torment free
Tomorrow she would brave the world
Baring her very soul
Intent to make the final choice
This time she'd take control
No-one else would pull the strings
Manipulate her mind
No-one else would set the rules
Making like unkind
She felt the power within her
As the dawn began to break
And slowly went to face the world
Her biggest step to take

My epitaph

by

Samantha M Jones

Herein lies Samantha Jones
Now she's just a bag of bones
If she had have tried quite hard
She could have been a famous bard

Poetry of life

by

Samantha M Jones

Moving pictures tell a story give you some idea of life
But poems are observers of much more
There's one that touches everyone not all will mean the same
Reaching people differently, I'm sure
They tell of inner feelings that you would like to share
Sending verse is easier to do
Reflect for just a moment, read through each carefully
And make your own decision which one is meant for you

Waterfall

by

Samantha M Jones

Cascading waters take the memories away
Falling swiftly down into the sea
I long to touch each one, remembering tenderly
But infinite in wisdom...let them be

Dawning

by

Samantha M Jones

In the cold grey light of day I watch the dawning
As each waking flower lifts it's sleepy head
The world with silent wisdom greets the morning
In nature nothing ever need be said

The pencil

by

Samantha M Jones

Ah!...the lonely pencil
What else can be said
It's long and thin and pointed
And also full of lead
The only little function
That it does perform
Is write a lot of words
That's not above the norm
It sometimes draws a picture
And if you are in doubt
Don't like what you've scribbled
Lets you rub the whole thing out

Jaywalkers

by

Samantha M Jones

Me and my mate were just talking
Without thinking we started jaywalking
Didn't notice the bus as it ran over us
Now my arm and her legs are in Dorking

Au Revoir' ...not goodbye!

by

Samantha M Jones

Way off in the distance
Far beyond the skies
Your peaceful journey has begun
Though sadly from my eyes
But through the coming years
When I have thoughts to spare
I'll save for you, a tender one
That only we may share
I'll miss your silly laughter
That smile upon your face
But know in spite of everything
You're in a safer place

No claim to fame

by

Samantha M Jones

I'm bored to tears...where is my fame
"It's overdue", I cry!
I wanna see my name in lights
In letters six feet high
I wanna be on Wogan's show
Jay Leno's would be nice
Instead of strugglin' with me work
And turning toward vice
To supplement me income
Pay the gas and phone
The 'listening bank' 'ave all gawn deaf
They won't give me a loan
I've sent it all to 'Parky'
Some to the B.B.C.
But I think they've all gone out
'cause no-one writes to me
To tell me I'll be famous
My work will be a hit
They only write to tell me
"Stop sending us this s...t"

The face at the window

by

Samantha M Jones

See the face at the window
With a sadness in her eyes
Watch her follow every movement
Of the clouds across the skies
It looks as if she's searching
For a dream that cannot be
Just longing to escape
And like the birds...fly free
Alas she's caught up in her pain
See it etched upon her face
Staring out with haunting eyes
Gazing in to space
Why does she look familiar
Her reflection I can see
I look again through that window
And the haunted face is me

Half a ton

by

Samantha M Jones

I'm fifty and petrified in fact I am aghast
The very thought of your future
Being a helluva lot less than your past
A zimmer frame you can picture
Crutches by the door
Meals on wheels are delivered
'cause you cannot cook no more
Least dimentia's not quite set in
I can still remember to write verse
Could be wearing a wooden overcoat
Now that'd be a damn sight worse

Give or take

by

Samantha M Jones

Life is full of takers, the givers stay behind
Discreetly in the background, the ones' you cannot find
Perhaps I'll find a giver who understands my need
Instead of only takers, my very soul to bleed

Farewell, adieu

by

Samantha M Jones

Even the skies are crying as I say goodbye to you
But they cannot match the tears I shed as I bid farewell, adieu
You'll always have a special place in the corner of my soul
So forever I will wish you well as you reach your final goal
Let God take precious care of you, you'll always be part of me
And the chains that bound you so in life now set your spirit free

God bless mum and safe journey.

Not Wordsworth

by

Samantha M Jones

I wandered lonely as a cloud, how lonely can you get
I didn't wander quick enough so I got soaking wet
I couldn't see a blessed thing, the rain bunged up me specs
Sod those bloody daffodils, I tripped and broke me neck

Secrets

by

Samantha M Jones

You'll never guess the secrets of her stories being told
May never guess the people, new loves or those of old
It could be one of you, someone from yesterday
So please don't delve too deeply. she'll never give the game away

My mother

by

Samantha M Jones

My mother she drove me insane
As on and on she prattled
Got hold of her neck...thinking "Oh what the heck"
And shook her until her teeth rattled

Bella

by

Samantha M Jones

Bella is my 'maginary friend I talk to her all day
Some people think I'm loony and should be sent away
If they decide to lock me up and throw away the key
It won't make any difference, I'll take Bella with me

The flashing motorist

by

Samantha M Jones

A driver passed me on the road and flashed his lights at me
I thought that he'd flashed something else and crashed into a tree

Three easy pieces

by

Samantha M Jones

One day I swam in to the sea
Didn't notice the shark behind me
He was late for his lunch so had me for a brunch
And now I'm just broken in three

Hands off

by

Samantha M Jones

I sat in the pictures alone
Heard the man next to me start to groan
I shouted out loud in front of the crowd
"Take your hands off and play with your own"

Speedwriting

by

Samantha M Jones

I sit at my typewriter practising my speed
I'm sure I'd go much faster if I was on some weed
I'd smoke my way through novels churned out by the score
But if my pusher did get nicked, I couldn't write no more

Health food lament

by

Samantha M Jones

I'm going on a health kick, I've heard it's all the rage
I've got this vegetarian book, I'm on the second page
It tells you not to eat meat 'cause it is bad for you
What don't exactly grab me is a vegetarian stew
Oh boy, I've tried the muesli but it just made me heave
It's called designer vomit and that I can believe
I had a bash at burgers, Linda McCartney kind
Alfalfa sprouts and Tofu, I really didn't mind
I'll finally try the nut roast, maybe admit defeat
If I can't get that down me, afraid it's back to meat

Oh God

by

Samantha M Jones

I prayed to the Lord to change my life
He said "My dear things can only get better"
Now I don't mistrust but ask if I must
"Can you put it all down in a letter"

Money tree

by

Samantha M Jones

Where is that money tree, that's eluded me for so long
Where on earth are the accolades for me poems and that one rotten song
I really don't have much talent, I've only got meself to thank
Oh well I'll just get me stocking out and go rob a flamin' bank

Howareya five O

by

Samantha M Jones

Another year has swiftly flown, alas your birthday's here
The big 'Five O' has finally come, how does it feel old dear
I've heard you get around quite well in fact you're rather nifty
It's quite a feat considering you're shaking hands with fifty
The bus pass it will soon be here, your zimmer frame's on hold
Well, never mind you aint alone, there's millions who are old
The wrinkles can be ironed out, the chin can take some tucks
We'll drag you navel over your head,oh boy that really sucks
Your boobs will sit behind your neck, your knees become your tum
And if we work quite hard at this, your mouth will be your bum

(you've been talking out if it for years ha ha!)

Change

by

Samantha M Jones

Catch the moon in your hand, blow the cobwebs away
Tomorrow will be brighter, the start of a new day
Feel the sun all around you, the warmth of it's caress
Send the clouds to another place and think about them less
You see today is for living, turning things around
And if you do it quietly you won't hear the sound
Of changing evolution, the dawn of a new day
As the best years of your life are starting, here...today

My special friend

by

Samantha M Jones

To meet someone as warm as you
In saddened times... a friendship new
Is all I could have hoped to find
It lifts the veil that made me blind
In all my darkness your were light
You came to me...the timing right
There is so much I'd like to say
Sending thoughts this special day
To let you know how much I care
And thank you just for being there
So as this year comes to an end
Accept this love...my special friend

Yesterdays dreams

by

Samantha M Jones

How quickly the time passes by
As your dreams sadly wither and die
They become just a lost memory
Never being what you'd hoped they'd be
Still we cling to that part of our past
In the hope that success comes at last
But it's never the way that it seems
And you're left with yesterdays dreams

Kerbcrawler

by

Samantha M Jones

I walked down the road with me mate
We were follwed by a kerb crawler
He got out to chat..I said "Oh bugger that
I'd have got in if you'd have been taller"

Counting sheep

by

Samantha M Jones

The farmer lost most of his sheep
He sat by the meadow to weep
But blow me down...when he looked around
They were found in the wool shop asleep

That special place

by

Samantha M Jones

Gentle thoughts for a gentle journey
Peaceful hopes gliding peacefully through space
Wishful dreams where wishes always come true
W e all will meet in that very special place

Sambo's Samba

by

Samantha M Jones

I bought this Talbot Samba at the auctions months ago
Problems started straight away, did not know where to go
I thumbed through yellow pages a million ads I spied
But when they quoted me a price, well gawd I nearly died
Still one guy was quite helpful and told me who to see
He said his name was Larry and was certain he'd help me
I telephoned this stranger and pleaded strong my case
In next to no time he was standing right outside my place
I really was impressed and decided there and then
If I was in trouble, I'd call on him again
Well, the time has come...the car is shot to bits
The breakdowns that I've had so far are getting on me tits
The flippin' thing keeps stalling, I think the battery's poor
The exhaust has blown a gasket and it's dragging on the floor
I'm tired of trundlin' 'round the shops, no choice but to hike
If I'd had me 'ead screwed on, I'd 'ave bought a soddin' bike

Guiding hand

by

Samantha M Jones

I need your presence all around me
A reassuring hand to guide me through
This step in life I'm taking
Let that guiding hand...be you

Beyond your eyes

by

Samantha M Jones

I know that you're not happy
I can feel the pain you feel
In your sadness I can see beyond your eyes
You really do not know me
Yet I feel that I know you
Your hurt is here within me as I see beyond your eyes
I want to reach out to you
And take the pain away
That's something that I can't do, still I see beyond your eyes
The secret is all mine now
How sad to keep it hidden
And only when you're ready, let me be beyond your eyes

Christmas fairy

by

Samantha M Jones

Christmas it came upon us
With everyone full up with cheer
I fancied the fairy on top of the tree
Is it possible I am a queer

M.eye.5

by

Samantha M Jones

Some people call me superspy
I've got my eye on you
I'm sure I'd spy much better
If only I had two

Shooting star

by

Samantha M Jones

I'll search beyond the sky at night
To find a shooting star
No-one will know our secret
But I'll know who you are
This star will have a special name
That just belongs to you
And when I dream my dreams alone
I'll save one dream for you

Not of hate

by

Samantha M Jones

I'm not about to bleed your soul
I'm not about to take control
I'm only here to walk with you
A road that can be shared by two
We'll give and we'll receive of love
That precious gift from high above
But should we somehow separate
Please think of love...and not of hate

My Bud

by

Samantha M Jones

I picked up little buddah
And rubbed his little tum
But I 'ad 'im upside down
And rubbed his little bum

Freedom

by

Samantha M Jones

The birds they fly so freely...to join them is my plea
No shackles here to bind me, desperate to be free
One day I'll know the time is right, then I will fly away
And be the bird of freedom...on that my judgement day

The actress

by

Samantha M Jones

I tried to take up acting, it really was a curse
I practised my delivery...I should've been a nurse
Standing on centre stage,I tried to exit left
Fell over all the furniture, the director was bereft
I know I'm no Dame Judy Dench, or even Judy Loe
But every actor has the dream of a smash hit Broadway show
Then all those non believers would flock to me in hordes
I'd be the greatest actress to ever tread the boards
Alas I'm only dreaming, myself I will console
'til Wednesday comes around and I sign on the dole

Oh Diana

by

Samantha M Jones

Your footsteps can be heard through the corridors of life
Your gentle voice will always keep on calling
No-one took the time to feel your pain amid such strife
How sad from Royal grace you were falling
But I heard you oh Diana...as did many, many more
If only we'd the power to protect you
Give them all the guidance to show the wrong before
That caused you endless pain which confused you
You turned to everyone, to set your torment free
When those you really trusted let you down
How sad the powers that be...they really couldn't see
You were the only jewel in their crown
Still we the people felt...the love you did impart
Such care you gave to each and everyone
We took you to our hearts, our special "Queen of hearts"
So sad you're precious work was not quite done
Yet we hear you oh Diana from the heavens far away
And sadly ask the question....why oh why?
Did such beauty have to leave us in such a tragic way
To be the brightest star in the sky

Across the sea

by

Samantha M Jones

Friends so far across the sea
That you can't see or feel
Are sometimes closer than you think
And sometimes far more real?

Where am I going

by

Samantha M Jones

I follow the clouds, I watch the raindrops
My eyes fill with tears...where am I going
I gaze at the sunset, the moon on the water
My eyes still with tears...where am I going
If I could see way out yonder, I'd know of the future
Mistakes I would not make, I'd know where I'm going
But hey!...that's too easy, life's not that simple
I'll learn from my sorrows...then I'll know where I'm going

Out of life

by

Samantha M Jones

I am standing on the edge of a precipice
My life in a downward spiral
Hurt and pain always gripping me
Shall I step out of life for a while?

Frightened child

by

Samantha M Jones

She ran and hid this frightened child, when anyone came near.
Retreating to her hiding place, when overcome with fear
She couldn't understand the tortured games beyond her mind
Her life was being overrun by those who were unkind
How dare they take away her soul, destroy her tiny shell
So made a promise to herself...she'd see them all in hell

Tainted love

by

Samantha M Jones

How dare they call it tainted love, this love so rich and pure
I've never known of feelings deep...emotions strong and sure
How can it not be wonderful, when it fulfills my dreams
So please don't call it tainted love, it's purer than it seems

Drifters of the night

by

Samantha M Jones

No-one pays attention to the old and lonely
No-one is aware of another persons plight
They're cosseted away with their own comforts
Whilst young and old are drifters of the night
Why can't we spare a thought for the old and lonely
We never need to know just who they are
Reach out a gentle hand to a total stranger
That act of love will surely reach afar
Perhaps you hadn't noticed that you too are lonely
Locked inside the prison you have made
A different kind of loneliness I'll grant you
But still it can make each of us afraid
So spare a kindly thought for the old and lonely
Make yourself aware of another person's plight
Share your love with everyone around you
Before all become sad drifters of the night

Wisdom

by

Samantha M Jones

If we were born of wisdom our lives would be in vain
We have to go through life, amid suffering and pain
For if we had such wisdom of the day of that first dawn
We'd never learn of anything...no point in being born

Patience

by

Samantha M Jones

Your patience is a virtue
Many thanks to you
If you enjoyed this volume one
Would you buy volume two?

Forever in your eyes

by

Samantha M Jones

I have witnessed much of life, seen the world slip through my hand
Been afraid to take a chance, just too scared to make a stand
Never seeing past mistakes, living love through many lies
But for the first time I can truly see forever in your eyes

My loves

by

Samantha M Jones

Friendships they cannot be bought, minds cannot be sold
Hearts cannot be borrowed, nor returned when they are old
Thoughts can never be erased, however sadly you recall
Memories will never fade, my loves...I see you all

Passing

by

Samantha M Jones

Passing is such sorrow from the loved ones we have known
I'll spare a thought for all of you in saddened times...alone
Remember we can all be there, or never far away
Safely in the knowledge that there'll be a brighter day
They say time is a healer and I pray that this is so
Just keep the memory of them, wherever you may go
Reflect on all the good times, the laughter and the tears
Especially the laughter...take it with you through the years
For one day you might understand the reason and the rhyme
As you will surely meet them, in another place in time

New friendship

by

Samantha M Jones

It's been a long time since I've seen you
How the years pass quickly by
Can't remember how I held you
Not too sure if I should try
If I did I'd be reminded
Of the hurt you put me through
Cannot stand to be reminded
Of the things we used to do
Still I'm glad that we can meet now
All past heartaches left behind
Going forward...learning somehow
A new friendship we may find

Barriers

by

Samantha M Jones

I think of only kind thoughts
When I hear your name
I wonder if you share those thoughts
Perhaps you feel the same
How will I ever learn the truth
Who will make the move
Whoever has the courage
The barriers to remove

Secret garden

by

Samantha M Jones

We'll share our love in our secret garden
A place where no-one knows
Of the love we've found that can never be
Taking care that it never shows
We'll enjoy our love in that secret garden
Caressing each others charms
Dreaming dreams that can never be
Wrapped up in each others arms
When you're lonely go to the secret garden
Look for me in the moon...or a star
Remembering my love's all around you
Forever...wherever...you are

Bruv

by

Samantha M Jones

I lost my young baby brother
I looked all over the place
I couldn't see why he'd hidden from me
When I found him I bashed in his face

Birthday rhyme

by

Samantha M Jones

What's another year when you're heading to you pension
Maybe if you pray to God, he'll give you an extension

Animal wrongs

by

Samantha M Jones

She dragged her dog in blinding snow
As he pee'd on sombeody's lawn
She couldn't see just where to go
But she sure as hell saw where she'd gawn

No horse sense

by

Samantha M Jones

The horse he cantered down the lane
His master for to meet
I got a bit too close to him
He shat right at my feet

Off in my coffin

by

Samantha M Jones

I wheeze and I cough through no fault of my own
So you think I'm a misery 'cause each day I moan
But my lungs cannot take any further abuse
From some absolute strangers, oh hell what's the use
My pleas seem they just seem to fall on deaf ears
Don't wanna die youg...gissa couple more years
You don't seem to care as you light up that fag
With that filthy addiction, you're becoming a drag
Try stubbing it out, make an effort today
If you care for your friends, throw the buggers away
After all said and done cancer sticks are no fun
When you're not the smoker and the damage is done
Still most smokers laugh, but carry on scoffin'
Would you laugh quite so loud when I'm off in my coffin

Soldier

by

Samantha M Jones

Throw down your rifle, pick up a flower
Smell it's perfume, such a symbol of love
Rejoicing in freedom is a much better feeling
It means you're in touch with the good Lord above
Look all around you, devastation is endless
No-one is happy, no-one smiles any more
You have the power for peacefully living
You hold the key that opens the door
Please lay down your rifle, pick up that flower
Look to your enemy...embrace him today
Walk hand in hand, fight no more soldier
Turn to your leaders, then turn away
They cannot guide you to a better way of living
Their only objective is power...control
So thrown down that rifle, walk away soldier
Let them do the fighting whilst you save your soul

Spiderless

by

Samantha M Jones

Tiny tiny spider, running 'round and 'round
I really couldn't see him, small upon the ground
A smile upon his face there, it really didn't suit
So lifted up me leg and squashed him with me boot

Age concern

by

Samantha M Jones

Hand on heart I must confess I lied about my age
I'm ninety six, you wouldn't guess, I should be in a cage
You'd pay out cash to look at me, the granny they call "Twinkles"
And if you paid a lot of dosh...I'd iron out the wrinkles

Meaow dreamer

by

Samantha M Jones

Wandering through the meadow playing shadows with the breeze
She stopped discreetly by the gate peering through the trees
There before her very eyes and so far from their homes
All gathered in a circle were many dancing gnomes
Watching quietly for while, whilst sure she made no sound
They happily played their silent game dancing 'round and 'round
It seemed like an eternity as she watched them play
Blinkng only for a moment, they slipped quietly away
Questioning her state of mind, as night began to fall
Was she really dreaming..had they been there at all

Clip my wings

by

Samantha M Jones

Try not to clip my wings, I am a bird of flight
I really cannot stay for long when beauty is in sight
I need to spread so far and wide encompass many things
Resentment suffer not inside...so never clip my wings

Unconditional love

by

Samantha M Jones

You gave me unconditional love
Through many saddened years
I gathered extra laughter lines
Smiling through the tears
And when our time comes to an end
I'll cherish many things
But most of all my dearest friend
How your love gave me wings

Up and down

by

Samantha M Jones

You stepped over me on the way up
Swore I'd see you on the way down
I now hear you calling but you can keep falling
Because this queen now wears the crown

Neighbours aren't that bad

by

Samantha M Jones

I'd like to say a thank you
For your consideration
Express a debt of gratitude
Via this oration
It's nice to go a shoppin'
No triffids for to see
No more tangly bushes
Tryin' to strangle me
So please forgive these words
'cause Shakespeare I am not
As basically I'd like to say
Thanks a flippin' lot

New neighbour...you know who you are!

Soldier

by

Samantha M Jones

Throw down your rifle...pick up a rose
Smell it's perfume, such a symbol of love
Rejoicing in freedom's a much better feeling
It means you're in touch with the good Lord above
Look all around you devastation is endless
No-one is happy, no-one smiles anymore
You have the power for changing each moment
You have the key that opens the door
Please lay down your rifle pick up that flower
Look to your enemy, embrace him today
Walk hand in hand, fight no more soldier
Turn to your leaders...turning quietly away
They cannot guide you, they're merely dictators
Their only objective is power...control
So throw down your rifle, walk away soldier
Let them do the fighting whilst you find your soul

Come back

by

Samantha M Jones

I walked with heavy foot, staring bleakly out to space
Remembering those steel blue eyes upon your youngish face
That smile you always showed, even though the pain was there
Memories so deep within that you could never share
I'm sorry that you never read those thoughts within my head
I should have told you, "I love you" not fooled around instead
Still, you always knew my humour, just slightly off the wall
I couldn't get away with it...least not from you, at all
Always seeing through me, giving me no slack
But I'd give up everything I have...if only you'd come back

God bless mum and safe journey.

Disco Diva

by

Samantha M Jones

No more disco dancing...no boppin' that's for sure
I tried to do it late last night ended mangled on the floor
The legs they went all wobbly, me head it still feels numb
I've been stuck here since 3 o'clock, in agony on me bum
I know Travolta did it and boy did he look nifty
But I should really give it up as I am way past fifty

Forget you not

by

This is a little ditty, for all those I adore
It's not because I'm stingy..it's sometimes 'cause I'm poor
When birthdays come around I would never just forget
If there's no card upon the mat, there's one upon the 'net'

Faded love

Watch the flowers gently blowing in the breeze
Trace the sunlight as it shimmers through the trees
Spring has faded now and summer turns to fall
Like our love...was it really there at all

Alternatives

by

Samantha M Jones

People are who they're entitled to be
As long as your happy, without hurting me
Whenever you're down down, I'll always be there
Whatever your preference, I'm sure I won't care
It's your heart I will care for, your soul and your mind
So whoever you are, I'll always be kind
Please knock at my door there's always a smile
Whatever I have will be yours for a while
It may not be much...but it's given with love
That I have obtained from the good Lord above
So whenever you're down, please do not feel shame
Your 'alternative' preference...well, it's only a name

Goodnight Irene

by

Samantha M Jones

Way off in the distance, far beyong the skies
Your peaceful journey has begun...though sadly from my eyes
But through the coming years, when I have thoughts to spare
I'll save for you, a tender one...that only we may share
I'll think of all the fun we had, those tours upon the Rhine
When both of us got slowly pissed on all that Liebfrau wine
Those endless blessed coach trips all dressed up in our frocks
Pretending to be sprite young things..instead of two old crocks
I'll miss the silly laughter, that smile upon your face
But know in spite of everything...you're in a safer place

Au revior...not goodbye Irene

One moment (A day in infamy)

by

Samantha M Jones

In a moment, many a life was ended
For a cause that nobody understands
In the blink of an eye, life transcended
But for a moment, the whole world joined hands

In an instant, myriad dreams lay shattered
And I'm sure God heard our cries
People's freedom, must be what really matters
So that evil can't rule...with it's lies

We will fight every day, to be free, come what may
Standing shoulder to shoulder...asking why?
Yet there's a glimmer of hope, as we watch people cope
Raising proud...their flag to the sky

So in that moment, the world came together
Sharings pain...so everyone understands,
that our goal must be global peace, forever
Standing tall, with the world...holding hands

Cloak of evil

by

Samantha M Jones

What makes such hatred fester in the sad soul of a man
What makes him take so many lives because...somehow he can
Today I stand in silence, watch men clawing at the soot
As three thousand hearts lay silent, underneath the fireman's foot
So what makes a man this angry, he denies another life
Where did he learn such hatred, tread this ugly path of strife
What kind of education did his elders...him bestow
Who wears this cloak of evil...no-one I'd care to know
