Friendship

We walk along, admiring shells,
As seagulls fly here and there.
We see children singing "Sally Sells,"
While wind blows through our hair.
Good friends, walking side by side,
Watching the ebb and flow.
Then we flee from the rising tide,
Still together as we go.
We'll return to the ocean, one last time,
How I wish we could watch ev'ry last wave!
I would even pay my last penny or dime,
If this moment, I could save.
