Life

by

Wallace Kyle Woodard IV

Sitting here in my mind
Amongst that ol grey melon rind
Twas curriousity and vexation did I find
Even blind as I am I can see
Many people look upon life as so blazey
When in reality it is a rainbow colored sunray
Monday through Sunday
June to May
All that need be done to live life to its fullest
Rather than its dullest
Is be kind to all
Even when grind and fall
Shun no one
And along the way have some fun
Embrace every moment of life
Even when strife
For you never know when out your time will run
And keep in mind how do you want to be remembered
When it is all said and done

Why

by

Wallace Kyle Woodard IV

I feel horrible from within
I canít erase the internal sin
Why must I put myself through such pain
Why my joy must I constantly drain
I am such a fool
Never more think to play it cool
Why oh why must it be
Why this path can I not see
Help from you I plea
Let me feel better and not weep
Let my joy back slowly seep
Am I incapable of doing right
Please help deliver me from such plight
And into the light
Oh please help me be right

Waiting Hopeful

by

Wallace Kyle Woodard IV

Thoughts expressed prematurely
Words of days gone
spoken too early
After deed is done
Think all is one
Lay down to close my eyes
Begin to realize
Within me feelings rise
Feelings of hope care love and wonder
Feelings felt for no other
To come or been
To look into eyes
IS to forget all sin
Thoughts centered on her
Heart filled with grandeur
Alas feelings not returned
Heart slowly smoldered and burned
Have no choice must wait and see
Just may be
Feelings will alter
Together to walk hand in hand
Never to falter
Laughter heard
Senses taken to anotheer world
Emotions unfurled

Free Verse

by

Wallace Kyle Woodard IV

Is my poetry hampered by my inabillity to write free verse
Is my work diminished by my incessant need to rhyme
will this keep my from being great
sitting on the shelf next to Dickenson, Frost, and Blake
Greatest dream in life
To be heard by all
to by recognized by the masses
