goodbye

by

Kelly Irving

will you miss my laugh
after I leave?
when I escape this life
to the endless sleep.
will you forget my face,
or my blue eyes?
remember my voice, after
I've said my goodbyes?
have I lived my whole life
without a true friend?
my life is fading
and soon it will end.
goodbye to my life
its not what it seems,
goodbye to my world, and
goodbye to my dreams.
will anyone care,
or shed a tear in sorrow?
will anyone notice
if I'm not here tomorrow?

I want to remember,
but I always forget.
I want to be happy,
but I'm always upset.
I want to hold you,
but you push me away.
I want to tell you,
but there's no words to say.
I want to love you,
but you cause so much pain.
I want you to change,
but you'll stay the same.
I want to give,
but you ask for too much.
I want to feel you,
but I'm scared of your touch.
I want to smile,
but you make me cry.
I want to stay,
but I must say goodbye.
