Turn The Page

by

Jessica Ingham

Fingertips gently brush tomorrow
outstretched hands searching blindly;
eyes brightly lit, forget yesterday's sorrow
enter the limitless possibilities of
a blank new page

Trying lessons have been learned
knowledge takes its place;
tears wept, the heart has yearned
in preparation for the journey of
a blank new page

The ink is dry, fleeting memories gather
as the chapter comes to a close;
don't look back as some would rather
but ahead to the adventure of
a blank new page

With trembling hands,
head held high
a hesitant step
is taken forward;
as you turn
the page,
say goodbye
and begin anew with
a blank new page
