Am I Shouting?

by

William Charles Hower

Words are the abstract
They drink up oceans of gods
Glasses of dreams
And bottles of fog

Words are infinite
Universes of black-holes
Spitting out tiny earths
Like chocolate M and M's

Words swell into new
Sanctified symbols
The abstract loves
To be baptized symbol

Words riding escalators
Are the most abstract
Wise little words
Sent down from towers

Words are poets' air
Riddled Rhetoric
Muses dancing
And crying

Words laugh at the abyss
Like free falling falcons
Diving fearlessly
They plunge

Words are the abstract
Shattered shapes
Shards of self-reflection
Shouting, shouting...
