A Little Prayer

by

Treena Hope

beautiful lost soul-where will you go
where will you hide-when the faces turn cold
is it really warmer-in the place you pretend
did I ever touch the child
did you ever truly need me
my friend
in a dream-you have long forgotten
do you feel-the echos of truth
if it called to you-I never heard
perhaps it just whispered
my friend
the healing love-never mine to give
my only prayer-the courage to live
in the still and dark-I feel you near
I wish on a star-your own voice you hear
