The Night Sky

by

HollyAnne

When I look out at the sky and see the wonders above,
I wonder if you ever do think about my love.
Do you wonder where I am or what I might be doing?
Do you feel me with you while the breeze is blowing?
Do you want to share all your dreams with me?
Do you often think about what I might also see?
Often times I'll sit and ponder about your day.
I worry about what happens and who may cross your way.
Do you ever wonder the things I do of you?
Do you know how much I care for you too?
Until we can meet again and talk about our dreams,
I'll sit out by my window and feel the sun's gleam.
I'll stare up at the clouds and say a silent prayer
That you and I will maybe find each other out there.

A Guiding Star

by

HollyAnne

If I had to choose a sea to travel
I'd choose one without any storms.
I'd choose one without any strife
So I could make it to the morn.
A sturdy ship is needed for me
For traveling unsure waters.
And it must be loyal and true,
Like a child to their fathers.
Along with a ship I need a crew.
A crew with pure intent in heart,
To do good without doing harm,
And loyal as well as smart.
Now that the ship is ready
And I have a sea to sail on,
I have my loyal shipmates
Now I need a star to carry on.
The star must be dependable
And shine in the heavens bright
With its glory shining down
And help me with all its might.
It should be a guiding star
With not one flickering beam,
And carry on in darkness
Although it can't be seen.
Now my voyage is set
With a perfect gleaming sea,
A glorious ship and crew
And a guiding star for me.
As I travel my heavened sea
And when some faults arise,
I'll look to my star for guidance
And always for advice.
