Freedom For All

by

William Hollingsworth

How precious is Freedom,
Lets sum it up in Words,
Itís like flying so High,
With the grace of a Bird.
Like riding against the Wind,
On a horse without a Saddle.
Or drifting down a River,
Using only but a Paddle.

Like the brisk mountain Air,
Blowing gently against your Face.
Or walking down a Trail,
Without leaving a Trace.
Being in a Field,
With no one there but You,
Or doing absolutely Nothing,
Because thatís what you choose to Do.

Like fishing all Alone,
While wading in a Stream.
Feeling the cool Water,
As the birds begin to Sing.
Lying in a warm Bath,
Just to ease the Stress,
Forgetting about a World,
That has become such a Mess.

Like dreaming of a Life,
So full of Perfection.
A life of truly Knowing,
There will always be Protection.
Or cuddling with a Loved-One,
While sitting by the Lake.
Knowing their love for You,
Will never be Fake.

Never give up your Freedom;
It is all thatís really Yours.
Freedom is Expression,
It is the ultimate Cure.
Living life so Free,
What more can I Say?
Freedom for All,
It is the American Way!

Hurricane Alley

by

William Hollingsworth

So much Destruction,
They have so much Force.
Families left without Homes,
Who werenít given a Choice.
Lets help them Rebuild,
If you have the Time.
If time you do not Have,
Can you spare them a Dime?

Children left Homeless,
The hurricaneís did Take.
Taken from the Foundation,
As their homes began to Shake.
Flooded with Water,
Oh yes itís knee Deep.
Where now do these precious Children,
Lay their heads down to Sleep?

Please take into Consideration,
If this had been You.
What would you Expect,
The more fortunate to do?
Lets help these poor People,
If itís not too much to Ask.
Lets rebuild their Communities,
Oh what a rewarding Task.

My Brother, My Friend

by

William Hollingsworth

We were always Close,
When we were very Young.
My brother and I,
We had so much Fun.
He was not only a Brother,
He was my best Friend.
When one was in need of Help,
The other lent a Hand.

As we grew Older,
We went our separate Ways.
We both created our own Lives,
And no longer did we Play.
We still see one Another,
Almost every Day.
Our bond is now not as Close,
Somehow we let it Stray.

We still have an open shoulder,
If the other needs to Lean.
Itís a space thatís always Available,
Just like when we were Teens.
Our friendship can never be Broken,
Although many have Tried.
No one will ever Take,
My brother from my Side.

We have had our Differences,
Like siblings usually Do.
Differences that we do Resolve,
We always work them Through.
We struggled through life Together,
Until we finally became Men.
I will always be there for Him,
My Brother, My Friend.
