When The Tide Came

by

Kulsoom Hisam

When the tide came,
I used to imagine those blue eyes smiling at me.
You held me in your arms tightly.
Your heart was made of gold.
Your laugh was like the blooming of roses.
There were tears beside your grave.
The tide came and took you away,
and you were gone.
You were the one and only,
The best grandmother I ever had.
