bug food

by

Richard Hexem

Before I become but food,
I plan o eat
as many bugs as I can.
Not the best plan,
but I do what I can.

I think I'm molting.

Breakfast will be
ants, crickets,
and a few spiders
for added spice.

on toast.

breath mints available.

FAST FORWARD

by

Richard Hexem

Let's fast forward
till we catch up
to ourselves
and dance a new dance
waltzing ourselves
back to a special place
in our past
when rainbows
were made to last
and singing
was all about romance

BLESS HER HEART

by

Richard Hexem

Bless her heart,
she tries.
It's not his lies
as much as it is
his inability
to become
the man
he said he'd become.
The way
he runs his tongue;
bleeding lies
through his teeth.
weaknesses
he cannot over come.
He's not the one;
she tells him that now.
