Don't Forget Me

by

Rico Hernandez

Next to you there is no other
Look for one why even bother
Promise me you'll never forget
Letting you go I'll later regret
I love you deeply in my heart
Your words soothe me like fine art
I wish you didn't have to go
Just because I love you so
I've never felt like this before
Everyday I love you more
My hope is ruined, my hope is gone
Now that I don't hear you yawn
I want you to stay here forever
Truly love again I shall never
You've been with me longer then any
But that isn't very many
I avoid thinking about you being gone
But it will happen on Thursday's dawn
So don't forget to call or write
And think about me every night
I'm not very good at saying good-bye
I really don't want to and that's no lie
Alas, the time has come and I must
Because it is Wednesday's dusk
