God's Masterpiece

by

Linda Ann Henry

If ever you are lonely or feel you do not have a friend
Remember God is beside you, until the very end
You see God made us His masterpiece
One He gives thanks for
He made the miracle of life in Jesus
To go on forevermore

There were times I would sit and wonder
Why we all were born
I thought of the beauty a new born baby gives
God has a plan for us in His great universe
It may not seem so at the time
But this masterpiece of God
Is the miracle of love that He calls mankind

A mother feels it in her baby
Or some feel it in their heart
Yet no matter how it happens
It is there a mother
Can play her perfect part

We think of a lonely couple who pray to God each night
Wanting their baby as they feel it is their right
Than comes that mother delivering her first
"And she cries..Dear God, thank you for the miracle of birth"

All of us as people, come with just one goal
To make a masterpiece of what God has foretold.
So when you wonder at the stars each night
How God created every one
Realise you too are a promise
And God's work in you is done.

The Orchid

by

Linda Ann Henry

There was once a beautiful orchid
Who lived in the garden of love
This orchid was so special
It glowed for heaven above

God had an angel standing guard
People asked God if it could be theirs alone
He said, " Only if someone is pure of heart
Would I let it be their own".

Many came and went
The angel did not let them close to view
So when I came to hear of it
I wondered if God would let me through

When I came to this garden of love,
All was just as people said
I was only a humble girl
Would God give it to me instead

I saw the angel dressed in beautiful gold
I looked at the orchid with longing
Hoping I could at least smell it's folds
"I have been waiting for you"
God's voice came from above
"The orchid is yours for the taking
Given with all My love"

I asked, "Dear God,
You have been guarding it for so long
Why do you give it to me
I am not even very strong"

The angel smiled "My Daughter, you are special
You have been so all your life.
You help others first
You always give loving advice.

Your heart is pure like the falling snow
So special in God's love
He put this orchid here,
So it would not lose it's glow
I, myself have watched you
And seen how you grow.

So you may take this flower
From God's loving care
You are a blossom yourself
You are so very rare"

A Distance Star

by

Linda Ann Henry

The stars are out tonight
They are all very bright
As I look, I see a distance star
Dear Lord, it seems so far
I wish I could pray for wings of my own
I want to hide, to be alone
If I went to that distance star
Will I find myself , see where I are
I want my tears to blow away in the breeze
If I went to Heaven today, maybe that distance star will go away
Will any one miss me or remember me at all
Will I tug at their heartsting, if they call
Will I be forgotten without my name on a stone
Will I always be left all alone.
A distance star, has Heavens as my home
With the Lord Jesus, I will never roam
I will no longer hide from my mistakes
I ask forgiveness for the cost I take
I am blessed with a forgiving God
He who is on a distance star.

Can I light a candle

by

Linda Ann Henry

Can I light a candle for my little one today
If I make a wish on a star
Will I be carried far away
Is she sleeping in her bed
Or is she calling my name
My life and her life will never be the same
Can I talk to an angel with wings of pure gold
Will they tell me how my little one is
For I have never been told
I cry so many tears
I cannot count them all
My little one is so tiny, so very very small
Can I blow her a kiss on a gentle breeze
Can I send my love to her on such days as these
Can I light a candle in my hour of need
I want my child, Dear God, give her back to me

Do You See Me

by

Linda Ann Henry

Do you see me as I fly through the skies
Do you see me and the beauty in my eyes
Do you see me
As a butterfly with the colors of a rainbow
Do you see me as you pick the flowers at dawn
I have not finished with life, I still carry on

My hope is for those that I know
Whenever they look at the world
My spirit they do not let go
God made me in his image
So I stand straight and tall
I will never look back on those
Who try to make me feel small

Do you see me in the sun
And in the stars which shine so bright
All I wanted, was for someone to care for me
To hug and kiss me tight

Do you see me in the rivers which flow
In the beaches filled with sand
If you carve my name on the stone of time
Do you see me, I am a dove, so pure and fine

Is God the only one who sees how I tried to win
On this earth, do you see me
The raindrops are my tears
Does anyone wonder just how I got to here
I forgive those who hurt me
I am glad to know those who have cheered
Do you see me as I pass through the years

if he is at peace with himself
then he is at peace with God

Do you remember

by

Linda Ann Henry

Do you remember how the stars shine at night
Do you remember how the moon glows.
Do you remember my love for you is like a song
In this life and forever it will always go on.
Do you remember my smile and the color of my hair
Do you remember the blue of my eyes,
Do you remember how we danced in those stars
I can do anything where you are.

Do you remember how you hold me tight
and how we kiss goodnight.
Do you remember my hands in yours
The strong hand that can carry us to heaven.
Do you remember how I cry, when I look at you,
When you are gone I weep, and the clouds are blue
Do you remember my face
You can hold it
Until we take our last embrace

IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO SEE JESUS' FACE,
IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
I WOULD NEVER BE IN GOD'S GRACE
IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
THERE WOULD NEVER BE BEAUTIFUL POEMS TO WRITE
IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
THE PEOPLE I TRY TO HELP, WOULD BE OUT OF MY SIGHT.

I FORGIVE THOSE WHO GIVE ME PAIN AND HURT
THEY TRY TO CRUSH MY SPIRIT, BUT IT DOES NOT WORK,
SOME ARE CRUEL, SOME DO NOT CARE
THEY TRY TO BRING ME TO THE BOTTOM OF DESPAIR.

BUT, THE LORD, MY GOD, IS ON MY SIDE
I STAY STRONG, HE MAKES ME WISE
IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
THE EARTH COULD NOT BE BEAUTIFUL AT DAWN
THE BUTTERFLY, I LOVE SO MUCH, MAY NOT BE THERE AT ALL.

I WOULD NOT SMELL THE FLOWERS, OR FLY INTO THE AIR
I COULD NEVER BE AN ANGEL, BECAUSE I WAS NEVER THERE,
THE LOVED ONES I TOUCHED AND THOSE THAT FEEL UNLOVED
WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN ME.
AND WITH MY HEART AND SOUL,
NEVER HAVE HAVE BEEN TOUCHED.

IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
NO LAUGHTER WOULD I KNOW
I COULD NOT SEE THE RAINDROPS FALL, OR WATCH NATURE GROW,
I WOULD NEVER HAVE MET MY MOTHER,
WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN UNHAPPY TO THE END.

I WOULD NEVER KNOW MY SISTER,
SHE WOULD HAVE HAD NO ONE TO CONFIDE IN
AND I COULD HAVE NO JOY, BUBBLING FROM WITHIN,
IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
WITHOUT LIFE, THERE IS NO ETERNITY
I WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN, GOD KNEW,
SO HE GAVE ME MY BEGINNING.

IF I WAS NEVER BORN,
I WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO PRAY TO THE LORD ABOVE,
THANK YOU DEAR JESUS, FOR KEEPING ME IN YOUR HEART
YOU NEVER FORGOT ME,
THERE IS A LIGHT FROM YOU AROUND MY HEAD
"MY DEAR CHILD" MY BLOOD FOR YOU I SHED.

A DISTANCE STAR

by

Linda Ann Henry

THE STARS ARE OUT TONIGHT
THEY ARE SHINING, OH SO BRIGHT
AS I LOOK, I SEE A DISTANT STAR
DEAR LORD, IT SEEMS SO FAR.

I WISH I COULD PRAY TO HAVE WINGS OF MY OWN
I WANT TO HIDE, TO BE ALONE
IF I WENT TO THAT DISTANT STAR TO UNDERSTAND
WILL I FIND MYSELF, SEE WHERE I AM.

I WANT MY TEARS TO BLOW AWAY IN THE BREEZE
JESUS WILL YOU CATCH THEM PLEASE,
YET, IF I WENT TO HEAVEN TODAY
MAYBE THAT DISTANT STAR WILL GO AWAY
WILL ANYONE MISS ME OR REMEMBER ME AT ALL
WILL I TUG AT THEIR HEARTSTRING, IF THEY SOFTLY CALL.

SHALL I BE FORGOTTEN WITHOUT MY NAME UPON A STONE
WILL I ALWAYS BE LEFT HERE ALL ALONE,
BUT IF I GO TO THAT DISTANT STAR,
THEN HEAVEN IS MY HOME
WITH THE LORD JESUS, I WILL NEVER ROAM.

I WILL NO LONGER HIDE FROM MY MISTAKES
I ASK FORGIVNESS FOR THE COST I TAKE,
I AM BLESSED WITH A GOD WHO FORGIVES MY HEART
HE WHO IS ON A DISTANT STAR.

where Iam going

by

Linda Ann Henry

Where am I going in this world I know
Can I find Jesus who will love me so
Do I have answers to the life I need
Where am I going, Dear Lord, hear my plea

Where am I headed, will it be long
Can I hear the angels call me loud and strong
With my hands, may I pray
I ask You Jesus to show me the way.

Where am I going, do I know who I am
Can I smell the flowers or walk in the sand
Will Jesus care and help me please
Have I missed my calling
Why must I grief

Where am I going, does anyone know
I feel caught in a web, will it let me go
Many a tear I have cried
How do I make it
Can I reach the sky

Where am I going, will I see butterflies
In the trees way up high
Jesus, give me hope to come
Bring me out into the air, you are the only one

If I lose, somebody close to my heart
Take them to Heaven, give them a start
Let my tears turn into rain
Please take away the hurt and pain
Give me wings so I can fly
Into the stars, beyond the clouds
Where am I going, can you see me now

Written for my father William Woodrow Henry. The greatest father anyone could have.

can I see a miracle

by

Linda Ann Henry

Can I see a miracle
Coming from God's love
Can I wish on a star I see, shining
From up above

Can I see a miracle
For someone I hold dear
Can I stop my crying
Year after year

Can I see the sun, way up high
If I send a kiss to the wind
Will God catch it in the sky

Can I find the hope I need
If I hold in my hands, a butterfly
Will Jesus know I care for him
If I carry a cross of gold
Can he read my mind
Or does he have to be told

Can I see a miracle
For someone who is my life
I want to hear the birds sing
The flowers as they grow
I want to be a part of it
For it is everything I know

Can you my Dearest Jesus
Make a miracle for me
I am just a little child
In your eyes I want to see

Make someone I care for
A person I really need
Give them back their life
Can you do it, just for me

I believe I have seen a miracle
A golden light came through
It was so beautiful, it was everything I knew
I saw Jesus hand and I held my breath
Jesus put His love on the one I love the best

I have seem a miracles
Thank you blessed one
You came from the Father
You my Lord Jesus
Is kind and I am eternity your
May I walk a while, with you
Your love is the greatest of them all.

Freedom

by

Linda Ann Henry

Freedom is the American Flag
Freedom is also the tears of the American Soldier today,
If we did not have these brave men and women
Putting their lives on the line,
Our Freedom may have been taken away.

I am proud to be an American
And I want to pray for the American Soldier.
Dear God,
Let freedom for this great country be one voice,
Protect the American Soldier from terrorism
And help them keep America safe within Your laws.

Bless the young woman and men
Who are in a country which does not understand ours ways,
Freedom always comes at a cost for all,
Yet the beauty which is the states
Much be able to have freedom of speech,
Religion and all of what the USA is standing for.

Please God,
Let them come home to their wives and children
Because they need them too,
Yet for us to be free to believe
And be able to vote is from all that they give
With the soldier fighting to keep us free
This is a God given gift.

Freedom is the beautiful mountains,
The park people walk in, the waterfall,
The White House and the President
America is the greatest country in the world.

I pray every day for the American Soldier
For without them our hope would be gone,
Thank you my friends
For giving me my Freedom
Amen.

I truly feel your pain and your love for our country.
I would not have my freedom today,
if it was not for you,
