FULL CIRCLE

by

Jim E. Hastings

My eyes are closer to blind
Still
I'm not someone else.
The truth
Who is wanted...
Unless to someone's expectation.

Awake - forgetting the before
I'm not the person sought.
I've changed - I can't stop.
They want the same model -
I was never given a number.

These places -
Identical.
I remember now
A younger world.
Knowing my youth is easy
Bringing it into place - uncomfortable.

As early as it is -
My heart still searchers understanding.
As late as it seems
Without help to unravel the beginning
My truth could continue to go undiscovered.

REASONS FOR LEAVING

by

Jim E. Hastings

I hope you understand
Why leaving is important to me.
I can't see another way to learn -
I don't feel sure -
Unlesss I'm sure by myself.

A time will come
You'll know -
I'll always be back.
Different - yet the same
In another space.

We'll sing when I return
See why we are now -
Understand the beginning.
Then we can continue together
Searching - explaing our changes.

ENDLESS THOUGHTS

by

Jim E. Hastings

Why it will end and
When. Questions of life
And going. Gone from
This head - my body
Saying its worth, turning to dust
Deeply planted - hidden from tears.

Why it will begin and
How. Shaking - thinking of
When. Seeing myself
Lying still - unable to
Say my worth. Unable to ask -
Where is this sleep going?

Unable to answer when or why -
Thinking
Asking myself of worth.
It is a wealth of leaving
Going onward to new questions -
New wonders of how and when.

ONLY A START

by

Jim E. Hastings

A few words written-
Why am I caught again-
Meanings unknown.
Is it something I should know?
Grabbing the dictionary
I don't understand-
Definition found!
WHY WE ARE HERE.

Put together on the end
Sense is made toward the beginning.
Though
Confused about the middle.
I don't need it-
Caught in life...
Not knowing.

Sitting back
Head rested
It is almost complete!
Yesterdays know-
Somewhere they hold a message.
I've tried a hundred orchestrations...
Only ninety-nine missing ideals.
