Butterfly

by

Melissa Hall

The butterfly flies
Through the air
Without a care
Idon't know why
It likes to fly
Someday it will die
But thats all right
It still will fight
For one last flight
Day or night
Through the air
Without a care.

Untitled

Now
with eyes wide open he sees a darkened past,
tainted
with misconception of words not actually spoken.
reading in between what lines,
never there.
the need to protect a soul, better when freed to express love, unbeknown to him.
and with his darkened spirit connected to her soul, he but all consumed the hopes of possibilities of any tomorrows.
smothered its sparks to embers,
he took,
....its breath!
what laid in its wake,
confusion,
hopelessness,
despair,
suffocated his waking thoughts.
dwelling of days......without her
dwelling of nights.......longing for her.
but as to every dark,
comes light
spirits once detained in dark,
freed.
new visions of his inner self, once lost,
found.....stregnthened
now knowing love,
enough to love,
not all at once
as air make fire breath, what stems from this new seed will indeed flourish. and although he cannot whisper away yesterdays sorrows and regrets, with new words to include love, he hopes she remebers.
not one promise broken,
with a new promise.
that he will love her,
in all.....
eternity.

THE BIG FAT CAT

by

Melissa Hall

THE BIG FAT CAT LIVES ON A RAIL
IT HAS A BIG BUSHY TAIL
AND RUNS THROUGH THE TRAILS
DRINKING GINGER ALE
SHE EATS BREAD WHICH WAS STAIL
WHICH SHE GOT AT THE STORE FOR WHOLE SALE
THEN SHE STEPED ON THE SCALE
AND YELLED
SHE WAS AS BIG AS A WHALE
SHE GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL
FROM A FRIEND WHO WANTS TO SAIL THROUGH HAIL
SHE SENT IT BACK THROUGH THE MAIL
SAYING I WILL SAIL THROUGH HAIL
BUT THEY FAILED TO SAIL
CAUSE THE CAT WAS AS BIG AS A WHALE
WHEN SHE JUMPED OFF SHE FORGOT TO INHAIL
CAUSE SHE WAS OFF TO FIND A MALE
WHICH WAS A QUAIL
WHO LOVED TO TELL FAIRY TALES
THEY GOT MARRIED AND WENT BACK TO THE RAIL
WITH THE CATS LONG BUSHY TAIL.
