Linger

by

Gigi

I felt the warmth fall across my face
Like a sunrise
But there was no dawn

The cold, lonely night was punctuated
By a dream of you
That came as I slept

Remarkably, when I awoke
Your scent lingered on my pillow
Though your body was never there to leave it

I surveyed the room
Expecting to see you
Sitting at the foot of the bed
Putting your clothes back on
Brushing the hair from your forehead
Preparing to make your exit
As quickly as you came

Frightened at the prospect of losing you
I simply closed me eyes
In a futile attempt to keep you there

Shadow

by

Gigi

But a shadow of the man he could be
He is anchored by martyrdom
An obsessive need to give of himself
Until he has nothing left to give
She is the only one to gain
And for what?
The ungrateful woman
So demanding, undeserving
Reaps the spoils of his work
Thanklessly, as if he owes her
He is a beautiful man, full of potential
But she sucks the life from him
As he fights for his last breath
He must realize his worth
He is everything I want
But he gives himself to her

Fire

by

Gigi

A secret blaze glows
For him in my heart
With each passing moment
The fire grows
Until it engulfs
Everything I am
And I can do nothing
But burn for him

Kiss

by

Gigi

Just kiss me
And let me mess your hair
With my greedy fingers.
Tell me we don't have to rush,
There is nowhere you need to be,
No one to see but me.
The phone will not ring.
Do not worry what the day will bring.
Just steady yourself
In the arms of the woman
Who wants you.
You need me,
But will not take what I offer.
My arms will be safe harbor
To protect you from the world,
From yourself.

Goddess

by

Gigi

Screams, like shadows falling
Through the delicate storms
He sleeps by a woman
No love lives in these winter winds
His garden is only a dream
Flowers there destined to die
Withered by the lack of happiness
Crushed by the void of music
I never wanted to be a goddess
Above his bed
He made me do that
He made me love
He wanted my visions
To rain down upon him
And quench his desolate heart
I saw through his lies
But couldn't think better
Moments of bitter recall
Screams, like falling shadows
The beauty is gone
Was it ever there?
No love lives
In these delicate storms
Of winter wind

Awake

by

Gigi

The night's promise
Tempts me to close my eyes
But to drift off to sleepless dreams
Rather than dreamless sleep
How simply could I fall
Into the welcoming arms of rest
I fight to stay awake
For the dreams bring you
To the tip of my tongue
To the top of my mind
To the depths of my soul
I fight to stay awake
For the dreams bring you
And I don't want you anymore

Drown

by

Gigi

Grasping
Gasping
Hands are
Clasping
Straining for the surface

Crying
Dying
Can't stop
Trying
Are you drowning me on purpose?

Inside

by

Gigi

Close your eyes
Imagine me
Giving all you want
All you need
I'll pull you inside me
Never let you leave
Because without you
I don't want to be
You make me die
You drown me daily
Suffocate me slowly
I don't know why
I'm not asking for the world
I'm asking for your love

Words

by

Gigi

You ask me what I am thinking
But I fail in my attempts to explain it
Impossible, I think
No words in any language

How do I tell you
How can I describe
A love so strong
It melts me
Lights a fire deep inside

Your gentle touch
Your tender kiss
The softness of your voice
There are no words
To desribe an honest love like this
