Hurt Costs

by

Kuna Fomboh

There is nothing more painful than pain
When the happiness of the heart is slain
To a stake of sadness and sorrow
Even a smile is hard to borrow
The pain is fresh and a burden
it hurts and can't be forgotten
The world just seems to crumble
Before thine very sight
There's no way to evacuate the blight

There is nothing less uglier than anger
It sparks up from the hurt you feel
It knows no particular gender
And creates a massive seal
Between happiness and you
The weight of it feels more than you can carry
Neither do you know how you will tarry
Earth seems like a dark puzzle of math
Which harbors no light before your path
