Untitled

by

Firedancer

your eyes are darkened orbs
~devoid of moonlight~
yet they shine like spun silver
as your fingers trace designs
on my moonlit cheek
leaving ghostly tendrils
of lust in their wake.

She Who TipToes

by

Firedancer

She glides gracefully
~lasciviously, yet lethally~
Thro crystalline waters.

Her green gown of emeralds
~quivers luminously~
throwing dancing sparkles
o'vr the lustrous blue waves of sapphire.

Thro the golden glades in amber hues
her barefeet
slippered in brocade velvet
tiptoe through broken shards
of her long dead lover's heart
& around his glutinous soul.

Starry Eyed

by

Firedancer

Collect the stars
as they fall from your hair
& crash resolutely
to the ground.

Search the darkened skies
for traces of their obliteration
yet your eyes will observe none
& it is those who watch without observance
whom are watched from within
through observance of others.

the sWING

cag-ed
clipper-ed
wing-ed thing-ed.

locked
shocked.

jolted
bolted
to the swing.

the swing -
swings -
as it should.

High above the ocean roars
Far below me eagles soar
as I whirl & whirl & whirl
pirouetting madly
upon the glass's edge.

Enter not upon my concentration
Lest I slip

into the milky void
belonging to the glass.

Late-night Prose

by

Firedancer

The darkness drifts
lightly hovering
towards the soul
it lurks.

High is the midnight moon
& long
is the dawn to come
as darkness
envelopes the mind
& sleep
evades the soul.

A Moonlit Night

by

Firedancer

It was a romantic moonlit night
And all the stars sparkled bright
Yet all around, the night was still
Occasionally broken by a lone owl’s twill

Hand in hand they walked along the shore
Proclaiming their love forever more
Yet the waves rolled in mercilessly at their feet
Washing away their footprints, the beach appeared neat

The tide came in, the tide went out
And neither of the two was left to shout
Of the wondrous moment, being hand in hand,
Together, alone, down on the sand.

Love

by

Firedancer

Love isn’t something
To be thrown through the air
From one to another
With not much care
It should be a gift
From me to you
& handled real soft
for when love is true
its always there.
Love is a present
That needs a close hold
But not let to choke
For one day you may find
That they’ve given up hope.

Let the Maniac Dance

by

Firedancer

Take the mirrors down
Lay them on the floor
Go weed the Garden of Eden
But keep the weeds -
Decorate you house with them
And pull up all your flowers,
Your precious beautiful flowers.
Lay them all in rows
In memoriam to those
Who fought in the wars
And survived to live
Their lives in garish nightmares

Light the candles
Dim the lights
Pray to the Holy Virgin Mary
Ask for rain
Stand at the window
And watch the sun dance
Upon your feelings of pain

Stand in the park
Feed the pigeons
Shoot a dove
That’s my symbol to the World
My thoughts on love
Sail a ship through the dry and barren desert
And Let the Maniac Dance
