Friendship

by

Seifallah M. Fahmy

Talk to me and let me know
When you think our friendship will grow.

It's hard for me to say how I feel
And to make you know my feelings are real.

Sometimes you act like you feel the same
But, other times, like it's a game.

You confuse me with the way you act,
Many times, I don't know how to react.

My friends all see it from a different view,
They say I'm wasting my time with you.

I hope to show my friends are wrong,
Do you think it will take very long?

If you tell me how you feel,
Then I will know if your feelings are real.

We have great times when we're together,
I hope it stays this way forever.

So,do you think our friendship will grow?
Please think and let me know.

A Chance

by

Seifallah M. Fahmy

I didn't get a chance to say I love you.
You were gone before we got that far.
All I know is now I really need you,
Yet when I look for you, you aren't there.

You said once that you never would forget me,
Yet how am I to know without you here?
Such emptiness! Like what I feel within me:
Neither flesh nor tears, just cold thin air.

Sometimes, alone, I feel your arms around me,
Jagged memories of you surround me.
I cannot think I won't see you again.
Why I didn't get a chance to say I love you.

If Only You Knew

If only you knew, how my heart overflows with love for you.
If only you could see the way you fill my hopes and dreams.
You're the owner of my heart, even in the dark of night,
I've only to think about you to feel your loving light.
If only you knew.

If only you could guess how I hear your voice when others speak.
You hold the key to my happiness, and it's always you my soul seeks.
If only you could feel, how your presence has the power to heal, all wounds inside me.
If only you knew.

If only you could realize the way you've shown me
that the past can no longer stand in the way of what I hope to achieve...
I'm willing to give you my happiness, expect nothing in return.
But, oh how I yearn for you...
If only you knew.
