JESUS REACHED FOR ME

by

Louise Evans

He reached for me, just to touch me
with His rugged nail-scarred hand.
He said, "My dear child I love you.
You are weary and I understand.
The burdens you carry are heavy,
for you feel that no one is there,
but My child I love you greatly,
and I want you to know that I care>"

He reached for me, just to touch me,
and such mercy I saw in His eyes.
He said, "My dear child I heard you,
and all your heartbreaking cries."
Then He said, "My dear one I love you
and if you just come unto Me,
I will give you love and guidance
and peace most abundantly."

He reached for me, just to touch me
with all the love that He could give.
He reached for me, just to touch me
when He died that I might live.
He said, "My dear child I bore your stripes
when I died on Mount Calvary.
One day you shall join me in heaven
and live there eternally."

He reached for me, just to touch me
when I did not know His name.
He called me out to come to Him
and since then I am not the same.
The love I know as I walk with Him
the love Lord Jesus gives me
brings joy I have not known before
and peace most abundantly.

Just as He, the Lord Jesus, reaches for
me, He reaches for you. Remember this.

THE GENTLE BREEZE

by

Louise Evans

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it willeh and the thou hearest the sound of it, but canst not tell from where it cometh, and where it goeth; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

A gentle breeze wafting, a zephyr
I cannot know the source,
It travels on beyond me
on some uncharted course.
Whither did it come from
and whither shall it go,
Only he Lord God of heaven
shall ever really know.

The Holy Spirit indwells me
by Jesus precious grace.
He whom Christ Jesus sent us
to guide us in His place.
So it is, man cannot tell
from whence the Spirit came,
but only trust in Christ Jesus
and glorify His holy name.

The gentle breeze wafting, the zephyr
it shall conclude one day
beyond the arbor and mountain
where it has wafted away.
It loveliness was it touching
in gentleness on my face.
and yet, it is no longer
though I have remainend in place.

The Holy Spirit indwells us
that Jesus we may know.
He leads us and He guides us
wherever it is we must go.
The Holy Spirit forever has
been One of the Sacred Trinity
with God the Father and the Son
always leading both you and me.

LORD JESUS, THE SHEPHERD

by

Louise Evans

I Peter 2:25 For we were as sheep going astray, but now we are returned to the Shepherd and over-seer of our souls.

Lord Jesus is the Shepherd
to whom we all can pray,
the Shepherd who will save us
if we should go astray.
If we wander off to sin
to do what we know wrong,
He will call us back to Him
for to Him we belong.

Lord Jesus is the Shepherd
Overseer of the soul,
He looks into the sinful heart
to cleanse and make it whole.
He is the Loving Shepherd
who guards His sheep with care
He ever stays beside them
to hear their every prayer.

Lord Jesus is the Shepherd
He guides His sheep with love.
He guides them by His mercy
from heaven up above.
He looks beyond what man sees
those things that men admire.
He looks into the heart of man
and knows His true desire.

Lord Jesus is the Shepherd
whom I in prayer shall seek
whenever I need guidance
or help when I am weak.
He will look into my heart
and He will enter in
and when I pray to be forgiven
He will forfive my sin.

THE COMFORTER

by

Louise Evans

John 14:16 And I (the Lord Jesus) will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.

Holy Lord Jesus, I praise You
for the precious gift You gave
dying for me on Mount Calvary
that my soul You would save.

Holy Lord Jesus, I praise You
for the Comforter whom You sent
the Holy Spirit to guide me
before You to heaven went.

Holy Lord Jesus, I praise You
for the Comforter guides me today
teaching me how I ought to believe
that You are the Truth and the Way.

Holy Lord Jesus, I praise You
for the Comforter touches my heart
that I may know the blessings
the blessings that You impart.

Holy Lord Jesus, I praise You
I will praise the Comforter too,
for He is the Holy Spirit
who was sent to me by You.

AS THE DEER

by

Louise Evans

Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for the water, so my soul pants for Thee O God.

As the deer pants for the water,
water, my Lord, You provide,
my soul, my Lord, pants for you
as with You I want to abide
You are the Holy Lord God Almighty,
provider of every good thing;
and my soul just yearns to know You
the High Holy Heavenly King.
The fawn and doe who are thirsty
disire the cool running brook,
but I am a lowly lost sinner
It is You for whom I must look.
the buck will seek his cool waters
beneath some tall shaded tree,
but my soul, my Lord has thirsts
and only You can satisfy me.
My soul needs cleansing from sin
those sins only You can forgive
and I need Your love and mercy
to guide me each day that I live.
Many the needs that I have Lord,
are needs only You can meet,
Hence I must come before You
and kneel at Your most holy feet.

THE VOICE OF THE LORD

by

Louise Evans

Psalm 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters. The God of glory thunders. The LORD is over many waters.

In the beginning the Lord spoke
and all the earth became.
His voice was over the waters
we should glorify His name.

The voice of the Lord is holy
with holiness we receive
if we come before Him humble
and in simple faith believe.

The God of Glory will thunder
He extends His holy voice
that we may come before Him
and with pure meekness rejoice.

The Lord is over many waters
beyond what we mortals can see
providing both love and mercy
to the likes of you and me.

The voice of the Lord remains
and today it still is the same
as it was at the very beginning.
We should glorify His name.

WITHOUT JESUS

by

Louise Evans

Without the grace of Jesus I know
I would surely perishing be
for by grace He paid my sin-debt
when He died on Mount Calvary.
Hence, I shall praise Him daily
from deep within my heart
for the precious gift of salvation
that only He can impart.

Without the help of Jesus, I know
I would surely fail today.
So He gives me His precious hand
to guide my earthly way.
Hence, I can walk in humble faith
and in humble faith believe
that if I trust Him fully
I shall His guidance receive.

Without the love of Jesus, I know
I would surely a lost soul be.
He has the holy perfect love
He bestows on sinners like me.
Hence, I shall ever grateful be
when I come before His throne
for He shall gladly welcome me
and claim me for His very own.

HE IS THE LIGHT

by

Louise Evans

JOHN 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again saying, "I am the Light of the world. He who follows after me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

If you walk in the darkness
with way to see ahead,
the come the Lord Jesus
and by His Light be led.
For when Lord Jesus walked on earth
He said, "I am the Light,"
tha those who follow after Him
would be kept in His sight.
They would not face the darkness
that wounds the sinful soul,
if they would pray to Him
to cleanse them, make them whole.
He is the Light, the Holy Light
who enters sinners' hearts
and gives to them salvation
that only He imparts.
He is the Holy Saving One
Lord Jesus is His name
and as He was so long ago
today He still is the same.
He will bestow His mercy
and also give us grace
that we may enter heaven
the most high holy place.
So come to Him, come to Him
in humble hearted prayer
He will be the Light you need
and will your burndens bare.

hallelujah to Christ our King,
Christ Jesus, who is our Messiah
and did our salvation bring.
We should life our voices rejoicing
rejoicing at grace He bestows
grace that will lead us to heaven
where we never have grief or woes.
We should gather togethr to worship
to worship from deep in our hearts
giving Christ high praise and honor
for the blessings He always imparts.

We should all sing hallelujah
to Christ the Most High Holy King
for He is worthy of greater honor
that all the priases that we ever sing.
We should come before Him humble
as we lift our voices in praise
knowing He is the Most Worthy

We can come alone to worship
worship that no one will see
and praise Him with hallelujahs
as He reigns in eternity.

THE EARTH IS THE LORD'S

by

Louise Evans

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord's and all its fullness. The world and those who dwell therein. (2)For He has founded it upon the seas abd established it upon the seas.

The earth is the Lord's, He created it.
He created it land and sea.
He established it on the waters
as a home for you and for me.

The earth is the Lord's, all the beauty
that we find from coast to coast,
belongs to Him, the Immortal one
the High Holy Heavenly Host.

The earth is the Lord's, as are we
who dwell on this earth today
for He is the Holy Creator
who founded our earthly way.

The earth is the Lord's, let us praise
the amazing work He has done,
to speak this into existence
when creation was first begun.

The earth is the Lord's, we are His
and no one can ever deny,
that He is the Holy Creator
who reigns up in heaven on high.

GIVE HEED TO MY VOICE

by

Louise Evans

Psalm 5:2 Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to you will I pray.

Give heed to my voice, O Lord,
please hear me as I pray.
I need Your divine guidance
every night and every day.

Give heed to my voice, O Lord,
You are my God and King.
Humbly I come before You
with the burdens I must bring.

Give heed to my voice, O Lord,
whom have I except You
to always walk beside me
as only You Lord will do?

Give heed to my voice, O Lord,
unto You do I pray and cry
trusting You for Your mercy
that will wipe my sad tears dry.

Give heed to my voice, O Lord,
for You alone can know,
all the needs I have each day
wherever it is I must go.

Give heed to my voice, O Lord,
as I give You honor and praise,
for You are the Holy Almighty One
the truly Great Ancient of Days.

WALKING TOGETHER

by

Louise Evans

Lord Jesus and I shall walk together
through pleasant days and stormy weather.
He, my Companion and my Friend
shall walk with me until the end.
He extended His nail-scarred hand
to greet me when I could not stand.
He, the Savior, spoke kindly to me
telling of the gift He gives free.
It is salvation He gives by His love
to lead me from earth to heaven above.

I heard Him speak; my ears were not dim,
so gladly I came, I came unto Him.
And as He spoke to me that day
to lead me on my earthly way,
so He will speak the same to you
to guide the path that you walk through.
There is no other so good and kind
as Jesus the Savior, the Holy Divine.
Consider the blessin you will receive
if you come to Him and you just believe.

Lord Jesus and you can stroll together
through pleasant days and stormy weather.
He is the Companion and the Friend
who will walk with you until the end.
Daily He looks upon you and me
to lead us to Heaven's eternity
where we shall be blessed with His love
and reign with Him in Heaven above.
Wonderfu blessing that we receive
when we just trust Him and we believe.

THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER

by

Louise Evans

Thirty pieces of silver the Sanhedrin paid
to Judas to have the Lord Jesus betrayed.
Thirty pieces of silver in that day and age
was fairly good profit, a fairly good wage.

Thirty pieces of silver that led to his shame
with no one to point to, no one to blame.
Thirty pieces of silver Judas later would learn
that to the Sanhedrin he could not return.

Thirty pieces of silver when we speak today
we condemn the man Judas for going that way.
Thirty pieces of silver for Lord Jesus the King
who came to this earth our salvation to bring.

Thirty pieces of silve that he could not deny
for it led to his death and perhaps made him cry.
Thirty pieces of silver when he took his own life
amidst a great sorrow and emotional strife.

Thirty pieces of silver and some still do the same
denying they trust in the Lord Jesus' Name.
Thirty pieces of silver, what price will you pay
to betray the Lord Jesus where you go today?

CROWN OF THORNS

by

Louise Evans

Matthew 27:29 And when they (the
soldiers) had plaited a crown on
thorns, they put it upon His (Jesus)
head.

The Holy Messiah, Lord Jesus, His Name
departing from heaven to this Earth He came.
No jewels or gold crowns did He ever wear
but a crown of thorns that He would not share.

The Holy Messiah, the path that He trod
was walking with sinners although He was God.
Proclaiming the message, the future ahead
the pathway to heaven where only He led.

The Holy Messiah though loving and pure
great was the grief that He had to endure
in the crown of thorns that the evil men used
when He, our Messiah, they cruelly abused.

The Holy Messiah who is our High King
He came to this Earth our salvation to bring
permitted this evil that it should be done
to Him, the Messiah, though He is God the Son.

The Holy Messiah, He is reigning today
up in high heaven and leading the way
No longer are thorns adorning His head
with evil and sin that all men should dread.

The Holy Messiah, the crown He wonce wore
the sinner who love Him will always abhor.
Today He is wearing a crown of pure gold
and reigns in more glory that eyes can behold

GATHER IN HIS NAME

by

Louise Evans

Matthew 18:20 (This is the Lord Jesus Speaking)
For where two or three are gathered in My Name,
there I am in the midst of them.

Come let us gather together.
Let us gather together and pray.
Let us lift up our voices to Jesus.
United as one, let us pray.

Come let us gather together
to pray to Lord Jesus, our King.
He will surely be in our midst
to hear the prayers that we bring.

Come let us gather together
to praise His High Holy Name:
Lord Jesus the Precious Messiah
forever and ever the same.

Come let us gather together
though we be only a few.
Lord Jesus, He will be with us
even if we are just two.

Come let us gather together
to lift up the needy in prayer
and give them all to Lord Jesus
to keep in His love and His care.

Come let us gather together
In prayer, let this be our creed.
Lord Jesus our Precious Messiah
will meet each and every need.

FOOTPRINTS

by

Louise Evans

When Lord Jesus walks this earth
He walked as mortals do
leaving behind His footprints
that are followed by a few.
His footprints were imbedded
by the very life He led,
His many deeds of kindness
words of wisdom that He said.
His wonderful redeeming love
that led Him to Calvary
where He laid His life down
to save such as you and me.
The footprints of Lord Jesus
lead us to heaven's door
when we just follows Him
as we His grace implore.
The footprints of Jesus
we should walk in them today
for He is the perfect Truth
and He is the Holy Way.
He has planned a journey
for the road of life we take
Hence, we should seek Him
for decisions we must make.
Wherever we traverse today
this one truth we shoud knwo
we shall be leaving footprints
wherever it is that we go.
If our footprints then are sighted
for someone else to find
may it be we walked with Jesus
on the footprints left behind.

THE TREASURE

by

Louise Evans

There is a special treasure chest
that each of us can claim
when we come to God the Father
in Lord Jesus holy name.
Inside this special treasure chest
is the gift of saving grace
the one Lord Jesus gave us
when He died in our place,
taking all our awful sins
up to Mount Calvary
that we may enter heaven
to live there eternally.
Other gifst that we shall find
that Lord Jesus will bestow
are His mercy, love and kindness
as we walk this earth below.
He also gives forgiveness
when we repent of sin
and pray to Him most humble
our hearts to enter in.
How many treasures are inside
I cannot count nor measure
but this one thing I know for sure
they are the perfect treasure.

PRAYER FOR WORLD PEACE

by

Louise Evans

In the midst of all the turbulence
that this world is in today,
I come to You, my Holy Lord God
and in Jesus' name I pray.
Many are fighting wars my Lord
because of this many will die,
young who led the happy life,
but now they can only cry.

Terrorists plan great evil Lord,
their goal is to kill and maim,
thinking it quite an honor my Lord
rather than calling it shame.
Families at home are grieving
for their kin who went to fight
praying that they will come home again
and survive their dreadful plight.

I pray to You Heavenly Father
in Jesus' name, hear my prayer
for You are the giver of mercy
of love, protection and care.
Please bless all our fighting men
and all of our women too,
Keep them safe on that foreight soil
and let them walk close to You.

I pray to You Heavenly Father
for all the families who pray
to keep their loved ones safe
then to bring them home one day.
Hear their humble prayers my Lord
and bless each and everyone
till the fighting has all ended
and the wars are finally done.

About the terrorists, my Lord,
and the evil that they conspire
I pray You change their wicked hearts
and let them world peace desire.
Things really need to change my Lord
until all this world seeks You
and strives to do Your perfect will
as the only thing they should do.

A NEW JOURNEY

by

Louise Evans

Today I start a journey
down a road I do not know
a path of pain and sorrow
and yet, I still must go.
They told me I have cancer
that will put me to the test
a cancer they found growing
inside of my right breast.

Today I start a journey
and decisions I must make
I really do need wisdom
to know which road to take.
I really do need courage
to choose to do the right.
I know I need Lord Jesus
to keep me in His sight.

Today I start a journey
that other women made
and those who are survivors
they know I am afraid.
They speak to me of comfort
they are glad to be alive
and though they really suffered
somehow they did survive.

Today I start a journey
I do not know the end
but I shall find some comfort
if Lord Jeus is my friend.
I pray He will stay with me
in whatever I must do
that after I have suffered
I shall have happiness too.

CONTINUING THE JOURNEY

by

Louise Evans

When diagnosed with cancer
inside of my right breast
I knew I faced a journey
that would put me to the test.
I knew I needed Jesus
so humble prayers I prayed.
He knew I needed surgery
and He knew I was afraid.

Now I have made the journey
that I did not choose to take
the battle fought with cancer
and decisions I would make.
I sought to have the victory
when all was said and done
and the cancer would be conquered
and the battle would be won.

Today I am surviving
and I have the victory
by the wisdom of the doctors
I now am cancer free
I am blessed, I am blessed
Lord Jesus walked with me
as I fought the vicious battle
to become so cancer free.

SAYING FAREWELL

by

Louise Evans

This poem is dedicated to my brother David Evans you departed this earthly life at midnight on March 29th.

There were times we said hello
with smiles that we shared
when we were still small children
and as small children cared.

There were some times of happiness
and those memories remain
of little games that we would play
without any aches or pain.

Then there were burdens that we bore
to walk life's difficult road
times when we could not walk alone
but had to share our heavy load.

Then there were times of great sorrow
when grieving hours passed by
that we would come together
shedding tears our eyes wouldn't cry.

Today is the final chapter
for your life on earth now ends
and since to heaven you travel
we will this message still send.

Today dear brother we say farewell
we bid you a fond adieu
trusting you'll wait in heaven
until we can all join you.

I know you love our Savior
and trust His saving grace
I Know He has called you home
to His most high holy place.

From You Sister Louise

NE KNOWS MY NAME

by

Louise Evans

Though I am just a common soul
who has no wealth or fame
I have a Precious Savior
who knows me by my name.
He is Jesus Christ Messiah
who comes to me each day
and al;ways walks beside me
and hears me when I pray.
Wonderful are the blessings
Lord Jesus does bestow
and He cares for this sinner
to lead me where I go.

He knows my likes and dislikes
my strengths and weakness too
My Savior is my Shepherd
His love is pure and true.
He looks upon this sinful soul
and does not have disdain
but rather reaches out His hand
that I may heaven gain.
He eons past He gave His life
He died upon the cross
that I may enter heaven'
though my good deeds are dross.

He knows our needs and meets them
in many different ways
as He looks upon each sinner
with new blessings everyday
He loves the many sinners
who come to im in prayer
so He reaches out to them
to take them in His care
He guides them and protects them
He gives to them His best
for those who come to Jesus
are trulyu truky blessed

ONE FOR THE ROAD

by

Louise Evans

In the silence of my bower
where I begin my day
I find things will go better
when I take the time to pray.
It does not really matter
if I bear a heavy load,
I find it is much lighter
with one more for the road.
I do not take the beverage
of scotch, or ale or brew
but rather it is one more prayer
I know will see me through.

brother are you weary
and cannot bear the load
then take the time as I do
have one prayer for the road.
Take a little time my friend
and kneel as I and pray
Ask our Savior Jesus
to help you through the day.
He will give you wisdom
and strength and love and grace.
He will lead you heavenward
to His High Holy place.
