Lost

by

Lisa Edgington

I was lost
In a place where I could not return.
Lost in a place where no people excist to help me find my way.
I was lost inside my mind
Inside my thoughts
Inside my ideas.
People tried to pull me from this point of utopia,
But my mind lured me back
To the soft cushion.

Nothing can hurt me here,
Nothing can dissapoint me,
Nothing can break my misunderstood heart.
Let me stay here
Where I am never cold
And can hide from the nakedness of the world.

Alone

by

Lisa Edgington

The tree is rooted in permanent loneliness
Stashed away upon a hill.
The wind quietly teases with it's warm breeze.

In the distance,
The sound of innocence floats slowly towards
Taunting it's unclimbed branches.

But soon the shadows will come
With all their darkness and fright
And the shouting voices evaporate into silence.

And the tree is left to face the night alone.
