Ending 2

by

Christopher Eberly

I wrote the most on deep, darkest days
When robins ate in springfull ways
My mind lost grasp - but naught I prayed
A love for god, a love forbade
To see it false that some desired
And weave my heart to call me liar
"Liar, so say you"
My home is fire

A turn so down that none can change
They stand -- circle of me and say
"deranged, weirdo,
deranged"
With pits I hold
Of milky whey

The day I died, so ill and fried
Deep down to bone - alone and sad
Far reach into my heart and grab
My heart to show the love it had
So when at last,
Last breath began
My eyes met eyes through eye-tear rain
And lived in motherís heaven eyes again.

Treats

by

Christopher Eberly

Solomon tasted of his last tasty treat
as moon and sun were up high
Heather looked down and said with burn-hardened soul
"I once was a man who could fly."

He worked upon acres of fields fit for plow
his eyes in a gaze that drew things still
Wherever they traveled and all things they saw
He looked after her as he shill

Nude Wood

by

Christopher Eberly

And for you I paint with coat upon coat to make you clear and make you
The color I want
Show you as the dream in my head
The dream in my head is never shy
I paint with bold style

The model looks up to see my expression
She is nude and I am contemplating a next move
I want to see the shadow on her back
I need to see this shadow for the picture I will take
When all the light is perfect
I will take the photo

Years from now the photo will lie inside of a book
On a table filled with cups of coffee
And it will be opened and the nude model
Will be talked about
And they will talk about the photographer
The way he made colors and shadows come to life
