Bobby pins and Bottle caps

by

Lindsey Derryberry

Broken hearts and bottlecaps
can tabs and old torn maps
I'll be packing soon
and I wont be back again
these blades have a certain calm
that my shattered arms need
(to breathe)
your name rest inside my head
and that kiss i could take a thousand times
is now dead and buried in the past
this is how it feels
when the whole world comes crashing down
bobby pins reside on the counter
and my bath has been drawn
the blood is on the floor
where we used to lay and smile contently
my letter of goodbye:
Love is like a broken record
your name skipping over and over again...
I only wanted you.
Forever.
