Dare to Dream

by

Judi Derosa

I lay awake my mind is scheming,
To tired to sleep I dream of dreaming.
I dare to look upon myself in the shadows strained,
And try to move into the light, but in darkness I remain.
If only I could reach my hand and pull into the light,
Then I could see that part of me that's hidden from my sight.
To cast a wayward glance behind the mask that is my face,
And transport what's revealed to me to a bright and shining place.
So as I drift to sleep it seems...
I dare to dream.
