Untitled

With the eyes of the beholder firmly locked upon mine
I strip away my mask and await judgement
for now is now the time to be afraid of what he thinks
but to pray he cares enough to strip away his own...

Artificial Flower

by

Look Deeper

A pretty red rose
I saw from a distance
as i drew closer
I distinguished
-what I had not predicated

a plastic petal
no seed it need, its fake red color
now i did so feed
-into my vision

it tried to hide behind
the bushes and the trees
but it could not escape from
what my eyes could now
clearly see
I confronted the flower
as i ripped it from its artificial roots
not giving a second thought
before i threw it
-to be tramped on
by someone else's boots

stepped all over
never truly appreciated
nor loved
I guess it was too late
for it to discover
what the sun and moon
thought up above

I walked away filled with pity
consumed with what i'd done
the flower will never decay
but will remain
tossed in the city...

The truth stares me in the face
I blink and turn away
Truth sighs as it gazes apon
the little company its has present

As the new me arose
the old miserably sits alone
pondering apon its next move

I dreamt a dream late one night/ it was on love and life/ i smiled because it felt so real/ i prayed this is how i could always feel/ the night grew dimmer and then sooner a light came breaking forward...shattering all night/ awoke me from my journal afar.../and reminded me of where we really are/ disappointed i was and am/ but i look forward to dream it again...

About My Heart...

by

Look Deeper

About my heart
You want to know
What its suffered and loved
In its short existence

About my heart
You search for answers
I leave you to ponder daily

You want in but you don't know
Where in life I've been
What I've hated
What I've loved
What I've lost

With nothing you come
Obliviously seeking
My companionship
(but for how long)

I beg you
Before it goes that far
Take the time to ask
...about my heart
