A Friend is all you need

by

Erin Day

A big old elephant,
the color of yellow,
skipped down the road with his lucky umbrella
"Fuperteetuptup, how I love to smile!"
"I'll skip all day long and make friends all the while!"
The elephant did this, day in and day out,
making new friends to join in his shout
Fuperteetuptup, how I love to smile!"
"Iíll skip all day long and make friends all the while!"
Now, anything that heard this lovely melody,
instantly joined in, there were cats, even bees!
But one little frog, the color of purple,
shook his head at this sight, and yelled, "Stupid klooperpers!"
At the sound of this statement, they all stopped with such shock,
And the elephant stepped forward, with a look of such joy,
he bent down to the frog, and gave him a hug and a toy.
The frog just stood there, with a confused look on his face,
He looked at the toy, and a tear rolled down his face,
And with much surprise to the rest of the group,
the little frog yelled, this lovely sweet tune
"Fuperteetuptup, how I love to smile!"
"Iíll skip all day long and make friends all the while!"
He skipped down the road, and soon everyone joined in,
and he looked at the elephant and gave a wink to his first best friend.
