To Mashell

Each face I see reminds me of you.
When the night is bathed in beauty
the moon echoes my sorrow
but I'll shirk not my duty.
I'll love none but you.

I long to hear your laughter
I long for just a kiss
though your body is near perfection,
it's your heart that I miss.
And I'll love none but you.

My heart grows colder each day
soon it will be a heart no longer
A lump of ice, impregnable
Its walls grow slowly stronger
Still, I love no one but you.

Now my cold soul has withered
and I wish but to see you
or hear your voice on the phone
for I can't bear the agony
of being forever alone.

My time is done.
Still, I love only you.
