The BlackLand

by

Jeni Cooke

Alone I stand,
I can see the blood pulsing
Through my veins.
Before me, the BlackLand
Stretches out, foreboding,
Resounding with cries of pain.
A Shadow
Quickly flies across my vision
Bringing thoughts of the suffering
Endured in this satanic, corrupted land.
Heartless, loveless, this land drains
the life out of me.
I am here, but for one reason;
I am lost.
I have lost hope and lost soul.
It was stolen down to the BlackLand.
I have returned here to take back
The shattered ruins of my emotional self.
