Lamentations Settlement

G. Cook

(Shakespearean Sonnet Parallel)
(This is only the last quatrain with
(and concluding couplet)

Though words shall age, waste, falter
into dust,
remembrance reigns of noble deeds that gave,
solace, hope, and spirit so wisely thrust
to nurture masses with a balm and trust
Those poignant hearts, so soft loved deep & strong,
have stilled, and shaken black cloaked, greiving throngs.
