Tonight as I close my eyes
unsure of a tomorrow
Remembering how earlier
you and I said goodbye
"Please, God, let me awake in the morning
to find that love is still here.
Please give me another chance
to prove my heart's dear love."
I lie awake in fear that
if this were our last moment
Under the same sky
looking and wishing upon the same star
Would you know my hear's love for you
or did I miss my last chance to remind you?
and will you forget?
If tomorrow morning I were to rise to find you gone
then tomorrow would be the day my heart would die
My love for you and the love you return
ensures each beat as:
"I love you, I love you"
it pounds.
One last embrace and look into my eyes
seeing into my soul
And hanging on every word
which are the windows to my heart
Love having no truth but this:
Love is truth.
You are love.
Your are my truth.
So, as I close my eyes on this night
I wonder: "Will our love see another day?"
and all I can do is reply:
"Please, God, let it be so!"

What I Miss

by

Tara Clines

The warmth of you touch
Your sweet, tender kiss
Are just a few of the things
About you that I miss
The way you looked in my eyes
How you held me so close
Are the things about you
That I now miss the most
Your soothing voice
That calmed my every fear
And your loving hand
That wiped away every tear
Your kind and gentle ways
I'll remember for always
Are constant reminders
Of what we once hand
And what I now miss

If You Knew

by

Tara Clines

If you knew how much I love you
Would that be enough to make you stay
Should I try and love you more
Or would that push you farther away
If you knew how much I need you
Would you stay by my side forever
Or is it just too hard for you
And I to stay together?

Enough

by

Tara Clines

If I could see you smile one more time
If I could hear your voice one more time
If I could watch you sleep one more time
One more time would be enough
If I could touch your hand one more time
If I could hear you laugh one more time
If I could hold you close one more time
One more time would be enough
If I could see your face one more time
If I could taste your kiss one more time
If I could make a memory with you one more time
One more time would be enough
If I could feel your touch one more time
If I could hear you say "I Love You" one more time
If I could spend my life with you one more time
One more time would be enough
