A Birthday Message To The Late Corey Clayton

by

Shanell Monique Clayton

On our birthday I said a little prayer,
I celebrated though you weren't there,
I thanked God for letting me see another year,
And I asked him to wipe away all my tears,
Somehow he told me it was o.k.,
The emptiness will one day go away,
I know you're in a better place,
I just miss seeing your face,
But every time I think of you,
I try to figure out what to do,
Should I put you in the back of my mind,
Leave all of the memories behind?,
I don't think that's something I can do,
Especially since I share a birthday with you,
Just know when it's our day,
I'll be the one doing it our own special way,
Forget you...I will never,
Love you...that's forever,
Pray for you...always,
Remember you..till the end of my days.
