Lost Children

by

Patrick Clark

Like lost children we wander,
searching for something unknown.
The lost child yearns for a parent,
our souls, our beings
yearn for faith and hope.

With the lost children we roam,
fearing only the uncharted.
Throughout our search,
false ideas are found.
They crush our spirits,
yet we continue.
As do the lost children.

What purpose do we serve?
The path which leads toward our answer,
holds only death.
The lost children show us the way.
The lost child looks for help,
help from someone wiser.
We too must announce a plea,
to our Lord, to our Creator.
So that all our strife was not in vain.
