Take What You Can Get, Always

by

Claretta

you wanted me
you thought you needed me
and when you got me
You left me

My heart twists and turns
its a blazzing fire
It burns
your love left permanent scars...
Made a bigger hole in the spot I thought you had filled
A love flower you killed
I'm hungry
but won't eat
I'm tired
but can't fall asleep
I'm alive but dying the worst death
inside myself
Rivers ran deep
Now shallow....
What was there in the morning
now has been made into dust..
I thought it was love
but it was just lust
You took what you could get
I took what I could
Now we're all empty handed

I'm hearing what you're saying
but i can't hold on
so let me drift
Surfing these waves of disturbed thoughts and emotions
A revolver of crime
I can't breathe
I'm being selfish and keeping my breath to myself
You can't make me share with you
This greed is my heart comfort and I am addicted
Save me...
From myself...

Lost love

by

Claretta

You were the person
I thought would stand beside me
Through out all the chaos
I cry every night
But you can't see
My damp pillow
You don't how it feels
to have to listen to what hurts the most
I know all these people
Are trying to fill the spot
you hold in my heart

Finally...
I heard a speck of truth
but the pain it brought
I found out you don't really love me anymore
and now I have to learn to survive without a mother's love..

Every time I go
down this road
we always drive
one way
I look thru
my window
to see
the other options
in front of me
and I'm wondering
where I'll be headed
if I let myself
experience something
else
if we all keep
walking in the same line
set in front of us
we'll end up in a collision and we will all die knowing
we stood by the wrong
So I'm going to turn
