A Fisherman

by

Ed Choi

One foot on the water, the other on the bank of river.
A fisherman toils to catch fishes being drown.
He is in touch with the water via the foot.
The other foot firmly planted on the bank
Keeps him from being washed down.
He pulls out dead fishes now and then.

Or, he would watch the world to pass by.
He looks on the mainstream gushing down
Into the mouth of Ocean. As the sun declines
Into the dusk, the moon chokes in the dense cloud.

Or, what else would he do?
On the wing of the night,
He wanders off onto the sphere of being.
He feels whole and
The world seems only a part of him.

O outro plantado firmemente no banco
