*Where's Your Star?*

by

Lyndsey Cartwright

Where's your star?
The one you promised would always be there,
Shining so brightly,
In a sky that always looked so bleak,
Where's your star?
For all to see,
Telling everyone,
You love me,
Where's your star?
The one I always relied on,
Looked up to, and cherished,
Now faded in the blink of an eye,
So suddenly,
My sky returned as bleak as a rainy day,
Your star's gone,
Your love's been taken away.

Goodbye

by

Lyndsey Cartwright

Can I cry my tears of solitude,
Can I sing my song of pain,
Would you take back those words you said,
So you'd be mine again,
Thought I could live without you,
And maybe in time this is true,
You said goodbye so suddenly,
Left me feeling so blue,
The time we shared was so precious,
Yet sometimes it was tarnished with hurt,
How could you say the things you said,
All my senses alert,
So I suppose it's time to say goodbye,
And let you go forever,
You may have hurt me sometimes,
But forget you?
No, never...

Hope & Memories

by

Lyndsey Cartwright

Savour this kiss,
The touch and the feel,
The tenderness it encaptures,
Which now seems surreal,
Those times seem so distant,
The memories we share,
I know it's not forever,
But it doesn't seem fair,
So cherish this moment,
I'll keep hope in my heart,
Don't forget that I love you,
While we're still apart.

Drop in The Ocean

by

Lyndsey Cartwright

Iíve come to the realisation,
As I walk my road of life,
That these tears I cry in this moment,
Wont be my only from trouble and strife,
This heartbreak wont last forever,
These tears will soon be dry,
I will look back on this moment in time,
And see no reason to cry,
Right now I feel I canít get through,
Each day is a passing test,
When not a minute goes by that I,
Donít yearn for your kiss or caress,
Youíve wreaked such havoc upon my soul,
Sometimes I feel I canít breathe,
Why this pain you had to unleash,
Will I ever conceive,
My tear stained cheeks will soon be rosy,
My eyes will return their shine,
Iíll be able to let you go,
Wont think of you as mine,
My sleepless nights will remain undisturbed,
Iíll be able to laugh and cry,
These tears are just drops in the ocean,
A moment as I passed by.

The Good, The Bad, and The Lovely

by

Why does love make you feel so good,
Knowing thereís someone there who feels the same,
Who intends to treat you with the respect you deserve,
And need,
And whoíll always be there to share in your dreams,
That realisation that everything is sweet,
You just canít pass the hours, your lovers touch you yearn,
Spending precious time in the company of perfection.

Why does love make you feel so bad,
That moment when you know in your heart,
Nothing will ever be the same,
Your love turns to hatred, and you,
Canít believe your affection, turned to hate,

Turned to nothing

When you thought your whole life was consumed with his love,
Why is love so good, and bad, and yearned for,
When itís a powerful tool for heartbreak and solitude,
Yet everyone goes back for more,
Searching unceasingly for:
"The One".
