Spring's Change

by

Sheila Caraway

In the early morning
Spring tickles my nose
Causing me to smile,
Feeling content, invigorated,
I sense change, crave it,
Wondering where I'm to go,
What lies upon the path,
Around the corner,
I am eager to begin, restless
Like a new bud aching to open it's petals,
To stretch and feel the warm sun on my face,
I want to begin again, to wake my sleeping heart
From it's heavy slumber,
The beginning's of life stir from the winter snow,
As a tiny stem pushes it's way up, breaking dirt,
It is now that I know my life is awakening to dawn,
To Spring, to change.
