Dreams

by

Paul Butson

I get my life from a dream,
I get my love from your sunbeam.
I get hope, I get fear,
I run far, I stay near.

I dream of daring deeds,
I sleep with Moses in the reeds.
I run from hate into your arms,
You protect me from all harms.

Time passes and I live this fable,
I was unsure, now my faith is stable.
In my dream I've seen the truth,
In my dream I'm free I remain in youth.

I saw you rise, I saw you shine,
I saw your love, and you saw mine.
I saw you fall, I saw you fade,
I gave you love and you stayed.

I get my life from a dream,
I get my love from your sunbeam.
I have lost, I have won,
If you call, you know I'll run.

I get my life from my dreams,
Although nothing is as it seems.
