I have noticed, how
like a Picasso
she is.
Strangely off balance,
orange hair,
chlorined green by summer,
profiled eyes like startled glass.
She's reaching for her breath,
an imperceptible tremor,
caressing it
with stiletto fingers
and mottled thumb,
mouth slightly ajar,
anticipating her habit.
One hand,
the one replacing her heart,
clenches her swallowed spirit,
amber liquid seeps from the pores
of her paint,
and puddles beneath her frame.
