Deoxyribonucleic Acid ...

by

Brandywine

Such a rough draft, never finished, incorrect bindings..
The genome incomplete, missing strands, fractured, broken
pieces never fixed..
I sense them in me, roiling around, no place to attach
themselves to help the unfinished design become a work
of art..
Bad eyes, crooked teeth, overweight and out of shape..
Skin that burns at the daintiest kiss of the sun's bright
rays..
Short and squat, denied the poise and grace of the model
within..
Voice like a drought-stricken Outback frog.. Toneless and
tuneless, causing heads to turn away in wordless pain..
Parents wrong for each other, the blueprints of life not
a match and ill-suited..
Could not produce that perfect child..
So much for the touted hurrah's of DNA..
