I am eye level with the soles of your shoes
They are kissing the floor that lies beneath them
I am begging for forgiveness
Behind your empty eyes
I am falling down a long road
My feet are bare, leaving bloodprints
I've left all I need behind
And I am searching for something I never had
My memories are empty file folders
Stacked haphazardly
I am looking for something to remember you by
But instead I find grocery lists
And old post-it notes stuck top the bathroom mirror
And my own eyes staring back at me
