Night's Entrance

by

Danielle Baker

In the dark we are all alone,
silent almost except for a moan.
In come the thoughts that run through our mind,
they are often unpleasant and not very kind.
They rest all the day in light of the sun,
trying to find us when there is no where to run.
Why do we allow these creatures to lurk?
Perhaps pleasurable thoughts need rest from much work.
You must quiet the voice that wants only to taint,
the beautiful picture you've been trying to paint.
