Snow

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Snow falls
falls down
each one different
a personality of its own

Snow falls
falls in
falls in for Christmas
must be here

Snow falls
falls up
falls up with the wind
the wind is here
here for Christmas

Always

Snow falls
falls in
falls in for Christmas
falls in for decoration

Always

Friendship

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Friendship is something we all need
What would the world be without it?
I would be a messed-up scrambled puzzle.
Not like you and I
for you and I are good friends
not like that would be

MY VERY OWN WORLD

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

IN MY ROOM LIES SOMETHING SPECIAL
A WALL TO WALL PICTURE
JUST FOR ME
IT COVERS MY ROOM
IT COVERS ME
MY WALL TO WALL PICTURE IS WAITING FOR ME
IT IS A WORLD
GOING WHERE IT WANTS
ALWAYS DIFFERENT
ALWAYS FLAWLESS
EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL
EVEN ME
MY WALL TO WALL PICTURE IS WAITING FOR ME

Feline

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

I am one one in the dark
Or am I your darkness
I am the one that creeps
on satin paws

I am the one ripping
up your couch
I am the one that knows
when are leaving

I am the one who cares
what I wear
I am the one that washes
myself without water

I am the one
the one who's your friend
I am your cat
the one on satin paws

Children

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Children
we are all dreams
dreams of growing up
dreams of what we're going to be

Children
we know grown-ups don't understand
the fact that we have plans

Children
we think that we aren't growing
up but our time is going fast

and when the time is up for living
we wish we were kids again

Shadow Shadow

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Shadow shadow under me
follow me only me
but in the sunshine there I lie
I cannot see you where do you lie?

Sometimes at night I hear you
creep I cannot see you but I know
you're there in the darkness
but I don't know where

Shadow Shadow follow me
follow me follow only me

Darkness

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

In the darkness there I lie
so many things I cannot find
something creeps I don't know
what

so many places I cannot hide
there I lie on my island of hope
They can't get me here
as nighttime creeps I crawl

under my safety blanket
hoping the monsters have packed
their bags
and moved away

Thinking is believing

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

I feel like I am
a bird rising
rising to the sky soaring soaring
through the
air I feel like I have
learned so
much and can never learn again I
have the
feeling of success
but will
never have that again things are
not as
they Seem do I really
feel the
way I do?

Gone

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

I feel like you are in a different
Far away I feel
like I can write
You a letter each
And every day but I can't so I won't
For it is not you
I am talking to tis' only me and my-
Self not you for
You are gone

Everyone is Different

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Everyone is different
as everyone can see
so many faces
so little time

with this in mind
you can finally end
your search
for the one who is

who is just like you
for that person only
exists within your
heart

as everyone can see
as you shine through
everyone is different
even you

Like a Shadow --- Like a Dream

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Like a shadow
like a dream
I gallop on my horse of hope
through the clouds
of doubt with no
Sky to reach for
through the meadow of chaos
with its flowers of doom
hoping for a better
place free of all these things replaced
with new ones in
waiting for me
on my galloping
horse of hope my endless journey
begins

In your Heart

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

In your heart there is something
something like a path
A path that you must follow to
Something far away

And when you start upon that path
I'm never quite as sure
There is in your heart a destination
A destination by far

Something in which you must find
Something in your heart will tell
You when you are there
Something in your heart will always be there

In your heart you hold the key
The key to the door that opens to the path
Your path the one in your heart that leads to the destination
Your destination

The one that is you

Feelings

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

The feel of
Confidence
Makes me
Rise over the
Seas and over
The skies

The feel of
Criticism makes
Me sink
Under the
Clouds under
The ground
But yet I find
Things I had
To find

The feel of
Laughter
Spreading over
Me gives me
Warmth

The feel of
Me being me
And no one
Else that is
Power that is
Myself

Music

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Music
It is always there
Always a part of things
Always needed
Never absent

Music
It lives in many things
Has many names
Many places to find it

Music
I am one of its' homes
It lives in me
I live with it
I love music

Music
It is always there
Always a part of things
Always needed
Never absent

Time

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Time is a mystery but it keeps our whole world together
Time is quiet but it knows it has a purpose
Time is a friend of mine It always has been
Time with its' many faces have
Things can be quiet and the greatest purpose of all
Time is one of them
Time it ticks and tocks its' way around the world
Peeking through its' famous faces
Time is a friend of mine It always has been

Black & White

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

I notice when I turn out the light
that every thing is black and white
not blue or green just plain old black and white
not a shade or tint of something
not like in the day
but at night it's that way
black and white

Sunset

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

As the sun is eaten up by the western Florida sky
Color streams make their way all the way towards me
'tis like a bag of coins of a wealthy person
that are once spent
and it's gone.

The Leaves

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

THE LEAVES ARE FALLING TO
AND FRO WITH THEIR PRETTY COLORS
NOT JUST GREEN FALLING AND
GLEAMING AS THEIR ANCESTORS
HAD DONE FOR MY ANCESTORS
YEARS BEFORE
THE LEAVES ARE FALLING NOT
KNOWING OF THEIR FATE ONLY
TO BECOME MUSH COVERED BY SNOW
THE LEAVES ARE FALLING TO
AND FRO
IT IS FALL AND THE LEAVES
ARE GLEAMING

CATS

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

CATS WITH THEIR EYES OF GOLD
AND THEIR MARKINGS OF SILVER
THEY ARE CATS ON THE OUTSIDE
BUT INSIDE THEY ARE TRUELY
HUMAN
IF YOU HAVE EVER KNOWN THEM
THEY WERE NEVER CATS
BUT WERE ALWAYS YOUR BEST
FRIEND
ALWAYS WILLING TO SERVE YOU
ALWAYS SOMEHOW THERE
CATS
ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND
ALWAYS

one afternoon

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

i watched the sea turn to sky
embrace the light as though for the
first time
i saw footprints in the sand
i saw the sun shrivel up and the moon be
born
i saw color die and recycle itself only to
die again
all this i saw on that summer afternoon
when i loved you so

juniper tree

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

away with me
run away with me
my imagination lets me be
under my purring juniper tree
through a lighted door
a door where color and creation
seep away
oh close that door!
my heart can't bear it
a world without color and creation?
you keep that door closed young one
keep it closed and come with me
run away with me
and sit under our purring juniper tree

The moon and its star

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

the moon and its star
will not sail with the stars
will not play their jealous game
in their grave of silence
with a blanket of majesty purple
crying the stars comfort
spinning silently in the thrown sky
the moon and its sky
are lost
are forgotten
are gone
the moon and its star

stepping onto God's new map

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

stepping onto God's new map
flying high over the world
our minds cleared
our voices soar

patiently painting the fairy
lights of good and evil
landing on the reinvigorated sand
with a crystal - light gown

and an everlasting touch
we
I remind you that the time is right
we must go

soar up through the night
our rested bodies somewhere unknown
maybe some day the flames will lick
our faces and we will be born again

stepping onto God's new map

Untitled

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

color molding color
red
orange
grey
black
reflections dancing in the
fossilized rock
water scraping sand
in the land of the sunset moon
her jealous color in the night
jealousy of her fellow star
with his own ears and his own eyes
color molding color for the dances of the mating
mosquitoes
the rocks molding color for the jealous moon
her jealous color in the night

ancient school bus

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

the music plays slower and slower
in my head
I no longer hold my breathe over the
river
my childhood is melting away
secretly smiling out the fogged window
of the ancient school bus
its pained windows smeared by the passing
fingertips
watching the lines of time pass us by
finding new ones as we go
I listen to how everyone complains about
how hard it is to write on an ancient school
bus speeding through time

behind closed eyelids

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

behind closed eyelids
dancers in the fire
strong sculpted hands of fire
molding faces
becoming one with the flame
climbing the mountain of hue
rebirthing out of spite
rising over chaos into pure
cool clouds
in an undertone to me
she whispers as we dance

In a Wave of Silent compassion

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

pyramid steps of ancient flesh
stepping up
a new emotion
stepping through the glass
each one different until at last I
too reach the top
breathing out , breathing in
fingers long and steady hold in my air
so I might breathe while toxins eagerly
slip away
expand my cells to the farthest reaches of the
unknown world
cut through the atmosphere
and the spread the color of creation to every single star
back into my body
back into the neatly engineered muscles
and the carefully sculpted bones
hope, hostility pressed together in a
silent wave of compassion

The Sunrise Seashell

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

the cities manchaster earrings
hanging on a shelf
so dark and smooth their colors
do they capture and melt

the cities manchaster earrings
waiting in a box
flowers of our evolution
engraved upon the ivory

the cities traced and smeared on
light umbrella sides
are shells
natures candy
candy for the eyes

Or Love

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

what does shame look like?
is it a cloud filled with rain?
does it get closer and closer every
time I do something wrong?
the palm itself says anger is bad for me
Artisticly it won't come out
I can't draw and I can't paint the list grows ever more
I pulled out an old friend from the rubble
doodled with phone numbers and pictures
it should have been a novel!
not my scribbled traintracks poetry
no one understands could it be that in truth I do
so I try and confuse?
what does anger look like?
is it masked in the voice of a sad song?
is it tears and flesh?
or a mood ring?
a magenta lavender spread
exchange the T for a D and buy an old memory
I need to find a new aproach to life
without the suspicion that comes with walking away
of saying something wrong
of being judged
what does harmony look like?
is it a braclette?
is it in the yellow bead or the mirrored one?
is it the glass of a lake?
or in myself?
should there be familiarity?
or love?
or love.

Chair out of line

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

The
study hall beat of a chair
out of line
A
pencil labeled with
madam
The
chesire cat named after
the cheese
The
glistening style of
flared out pants
I
always used to smile at the
way she'd wink
A
stuffed animal layed aside
in a tree
Eyebrows
etched over lavender
glasses
everything
matched to the
constant
beat
of a study hall chair
out of line

Not Here, But Now

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

Let me not skip any rocks
so that I may open my eyes
plunging down
gliding out
we come of hard times with
our best color

the French flag does share so
much of that red, white and blue
all of it sinking out of the same
multicoloered pen

I have skipped rocks
and now see the broken, muddy
remains of hope lying beside
the road

they stare at me though I am patriotic
nature must still be mixed with us

scotch tape isn't the only thing holding this
map of America up anymore
music on the checker board
I feel like I've done this before
yellow icicles dance as a scream
of fear retreats and wonder flys

let me not skip any rocks
so that I may open my eyes
open my eyes to the world

Realization of Actuality

by

Gabrielle Bajuscik

I can live in a snow globe of my own
I can draw inside my skin
I can paint in just plain green
jumping up the stairs two at a time
switching flights you learn agian
realization of actuality
we do not just fall but do change winds
change winds and ways
Do you know you're lost when you're lost when you're
looking for inspiration?
do they judge me by my finger tips
or the folicals of my hair?
I asume a wall that's not there
I can put worlds in rocks to save my memory
I can draw inside my skin
I can piant in fust plain green
Inspiration will look for me
