Our World

by

Leandra Augustine

We have no color in this world of ours.
We are color blind and our race is mankind.

Our minds are open and never closed.
We welcome any and everyone to our humble home.

Our world is different from the world's out there
where ignorance exist and discrimination remains.

Minds are closed to the thoughts of others.
The streets are crowded with battered, homeless mothers.

Their world discriminates against all mankind.
Equality is just a term that has been put in the back of their minds.

Some people might consider our world as the best.
But the cruel fact is that it can never exist unless the ignorance is put to rest.
