Hourglass

by

Dee Allen

I marvel as you leave your finger prints
on my glass body filled with sand

I thought nothing ever looked more beautiful
than the delicate touch of your strong hands

As your gaze holds mine alone
and the steadiness consumes all time

The sand will no longer matter
and the glass holds evidence of what is mine

Fond Delusion

by

Dee Allen

Disconnected
dislodging resistance
Hopes have been assailed
pray faith to have prevailed
Faintest echo
comming back in tears
and silent finished years
In ever quickening form
behold the rising storm
blessings only to give, kisses lovingly take
breathing undying to live, hearts nevermore break
Fond delusion
in the exuberance of morning
and the quietness of dew

(soul scrape)

Leave my sad heart then,
in the barbs and thorns.
Turn faith into doubt,
blood dead roses adorn.
Scars old bear wittness,
remembering trust scorned,
kissing suspicion;
so stop now, please be warned.
Maligned in error,
let not such thoughts be born,
or give strength to stand
in the light of morn.
Don't silence us now,
I've no wish death to mourn,
I've not wavered love,
let your own heart be worn.

The Gift of You

by

Dee Allen

I have loved you always, since the beginning of time,
And since always is forever, I will always be thine.
My heart is no more divided than it ever has been.
For me to say that it was would be the greater sin.
I knew you first at the creation of the world,
Where love was born when the heavens unfurled.
In the newness of hope and the creation of life,
We were together there in the first dawn of light.
I knew you still in the depths of the ocean,
Where our atoms drank deep of that tidal emotion.
And we continued love, none could say it's untrue,
To be formed throughout time, from the dust and the dew.
And everything collided on the day of your birth,
Watched sun stars and moon at the gift of the earth.
And I a small child, knew from that moment on,
That one day I'd find you and in consciousness bond.
Love is forever, from God's word it's spoken,
Perfect and complete and eternally unbroken.

dim-no-dancing-feet
afraid theyll run away
total strangers
and the refrain may topple you
love comprehends easily beyond
through joy and frailest anguish
pursuaded we've agreed
though left in this immeasurable space
inquisitive shy dare bold
dusting off gold
singing sweet perfect amazing peace
gone are the overshadowing
near silent
everywhere infinate truths
beyond stillness into a swimming
swallowing vastness of blossoming bliss
emerging from a rainy dream-wish
for an eager breath of morning
with a might deeper sharper brighter
enchanted-with-snowflake-briefness
and falling adventure

I watch wary
of this space between us

I watch it but
without control

It is only the knowledge
that keeps me safe

Knowledge we're discovering
about the belief

Belief that protects us
folded inside

This is where I am today
deep inside faith

And I cannot go back
I am locking doors

Throwing keys into the water
to rest at the bottom of the ocean

The silence will give way
to our music

Our lyrical sensations
find themselves at last

in these peopleless rooms
square in their purpose
round in their completeness

fulfilled in the knowledge
we're discovering
about the belief

rainy twilight

by

Dee Allen

The rain is talking soft
then loud
in conversation
And the rain delays in
clouds
don't go
I'm here believe me
now
I can only think of you
of us

Still rain is pouring
down
then slow
It's comming in waves
And the night is fading
now
today
Its promise in light
I can only think of you
of us

As day breaks in softness
in light
Washed and bathed
in newness
I only think of you
of us
