Nobody in her right mind would WANT this job! It is terribly difficult, and, except for these nagging facts that we just mentioned, not very rewarding. If anything, we feel that her reluctance to go for this is one of her best qualifications! We also feel that this is the time and Oprah is the person.
If, like many who have spoken to us, you think that a president must first have served in some lesser office, preferably Governor or Senator should carefully review their history. Yes, it is true that most former prsidents did just that, in times of crisis, we the people of the United States have elected men...no women quite yet...who we feel are most up to the task at hand. Some, like Dwight Eisenhower and George Washington were generals who led men into battle in great wars. Others, like Woodrow Wilson, were scholars. We think that Oprah's chairmanship of a giant media corporation...rising from poverty, by the way...is sufficient background to qualify her for almost any leadership role, including President of the U.S..
